Pier Paolo Pasolini
Pier Paolo Pasolini (March 5, 1922 – November 2, 1975) was an Italian film director, poet, writer, and intellectual. Pasolini described himself as a Catholic Marxist, which can be seen through the political and spiritual approach to films such as Salò or the 120 Days of Sodom and The Gospel According to St. Matthew. He demonstrated a unique and extraordinary cultural versatility, becoming a highly controversial figure in the process.
