Rita Puspa Zakaria

Rita Puspa Zakaria is an Indonesian civil servant, politician, teacher, producer, and former actress. She was born on 20 November 1967 in Kelapapati, Bengkalis, as the fifth child from the seven children to Zakaria bin Muhammad Amin, an ulama, and Siti Zainab binti Kimpal, an actress. She has a three brother and three sisters. Her brothers were Zulkarnain Zakaria (born 17 August 1957), Nukman Zakaria (born 20 June 1960), and Gamal Abdul Nasir Zakaria (born 22 June 1965). While her sisters were Rinie Yuslina Fairuz Zakaria (25 July 1964 – 14 March 2021), Nida Suryani Zakaria (born 15 April 1971), and Sri Purnama Zakaria (born 20 October 1973). After graduated from high school, she went to Politeknik Kesehatan Kementerian Kesehatan Padang, from 1986 until 1989. She began to work as a civil servant in Bengkalis from March 1990. In 1997, she went to Faculty of Public Health at University of Indonesia and graduated in 1999. She continued her education at IPB University majoring in nutrition from 2001 until 2003.
