Mein Freund, der Deutsche

1963, in a hotel room in Berlin. Mahmut Güzel, a migrant worker, is waiting to return to Turkey. But then Thilo Schmidt from the employment office and his Turkish interpreter, Kani Kipcak, arrive to inform him that he must stay in Germany because he is needed, and they refuse to let him leave. Mahmut does everything in his power to leave the country.
