Anti-woke chick flick

My wife is rebelling against my alien invasion / post-apocalyptic movies, so I threw her a bone with this chick flick. It's surprisingly entertaining even for me.

Amy Adams looks like a young Nicole Kidman, very beautiful. Her character is a 1940's "Instagram thot", whereas the frumpy lead is uber conservative. The thot is mostly punished for her harlotting ways. Some of the conservative woman's values rub off on the thot by the end, as she realizes the folly of her lifestyle. And the conservative woman gets a reward for living right. So, this is actually a nice anti-woke story.

If you are not British, you will probably want to put on subtitles. I normally don't have much of a problem with British accents, but they speak quickly and mumble in this film. The Kidman clone's character is American, but speaks with a Mid-Atlantic accent, which is a fake "movie star" accent that is halfway between American and British; American actresses learned this accent in the era that this film took place, a nice attention to detail.
