There are no heroes. Only rebels.

When a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they dispatch Kora, a young woman with a mysterious past, to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand.

Subtle wokeness

The film includes a non-binary character named Milius, played by non-binary actor E. Duffy. However, this character is not a main character in part one of the film. It does not explicitly state that this character is LGBTQ, but it is evident from observing their portrayal.

I did not perceive any agenda being pushed; the character seamlessly blends in with the rest of the cast. The heroine is strong and tough, but she also exhibits past trauma and demonstrates the need for assistance to continue her journey. This display of vulnerability makes her more relatable and human. Overall, the film is definitely watchable. It bears a slight resemblance to Star Wars but is not bad. I am eagerly anticipating the second installment.

Woke elements

The movie's creator, Zack Snyder, bragged on X/Twitter about hiring a non-binary actor to play a non-binary character. Intent is important, and he was virtue signaling, begging for a woke point, so I will grant him one. Women can be tomboys, asexual, or whatever, but creating a completely new gender for "non-binary" is nonsense. Kids love movies like Star Wars and pushing non-binary bullshit to kids is immoral.

In the cabaret scene, there is not one but two transgenders. I will overlook the woman, who had a drawn on moustache and male clothes, but the guy was a full drag queen. Automatic 1 woke point.

There is not one but two women who are 100X better warriors than any men around them. The king of the galaxy calls one of these women the greatest warrior in ALL OF HISTORY. I like tough women in movies, but not when it is totally absurd and intended to push an agenda. 1 woke point.

That makes 3/5 woke points.

If the movie seems like Star Wars with its modified light sabers and cantina scene, it's because the script was originally written to be a Star Wars movie. They wisely would not buy it, though.

The movie has boring scenes and over-the-top action scenes. It's part 1 of a ~5 hour movie, so it is not very interesting, at least not yet.

Woke. Dull.

A mishmash of clichés and sappiness. They throw a little bit of everything at you quickly and haphazardly. Dull, and the battles are lackluster. Level of amateur production show that was haphazardly cobbled together in a basement. A reluctant 3 out of 10 from me.

And of course, there's the ESG agenda, typical of Leftflix, with the main character being an uber-strong woman. All the other characters are so boring and uninteresting that this pathetic attempt to integrate them into the plot looks as pathetic as they are

A decent but derivative sci fi movie.

It’s not the best movie, it’s not the worst movie, but if you’ve got nothing to watch and you enjoy sci fi movies, you might enjoy this. I don’t get the ‘wokeness score’ on this one. There wasn’t any overt wokeness.

Love Letter to BLM/Antifa....IN SPACE!!!

White people are the bad guys (spoiler....ALL the white people are bad guys or useless). Women, minorities, downtrodden are all the "good guys". This is Star Wars written by Antifa.
