Thousand Thrashing Arms
In Thousand Thrashing Arms (2024), artist and filmmaker Dina Mimi interweaves political and historical layers with the physicality of the struggle for freedom. From Nelson Mandela’s statue in Ramallah to archival footage of Palestinian resistance fighters, her films explore the relationship between physical resistance, archives, and liberation. In conversation with Line Ajan, Mimi reflects on the use of montage in her work and how dreaming of freedom remains an act of resistance.
