This 1986 movie portrays Neanderthals as the retarded cousins of Cro-Magnons, an outdated notion. Also, fair-skinned blue-eyed blondes like "Cro-Magnon" Daryl Hannah probably did not appear until many thousands of years later.

The Neanderthals communicate with a combination of grunty voice and a sign language. Now I know how to sign "we fuck now!" in Neanderthal!

Neanderthal men oppress their women and Daryl Hannah is an "immigrant", so doubly discriminated against. It's not quite enough for me to penalize a woke point.

Overall, The Clan of the Cave Bear was a bit cringy when it was released, and is becoming more and more cringy as our understanding of Neanderthals grows. Supposedly, the book is orders of magnitude better, but it too must be outdated.
