Oxygen or Oxygène is situated within my film goldilocks zone: not at the "action blockbuster" end and not at the "pretentious art" end of the spectrum. I found it an intriguing, unique premise, though one IMDB review says there are 1000 other films with the exact same premise. Well, where are these films? I want to see them!
Netflix opted not to ruin this film with wokeness. It's largely a one woman film, carried by Mélanie Laurent's world class acting. Her character is White and heterosexual. She is easy on the eyes, which is a good thing since we see her face constantly.
Surprisingly, it has a rating of only 6.5/10 on IMDB. I will go against the consensus and give it a 5/5. YMMV. I watched with subtitles.
