The Wandering Earth
When the Sun begins to expand in such a way that it will inevitably engulf and destroy the Earth in a hundred years, united mankind finds a way to avoid extinction by propelling the planet out of the Solar System using gigantic engines, moving it to a new home located four light years away, an epic journey that will last thousands of years.

This is much like Wandering Earth II in that it is Communist propaganda in a sci-fi blockbuster wrapper. The wokeness is just pro-Communism bits.
There is less Communist propaganda here than in II, but at one point it's not at all subtle: a character remarks how odd it was that past generations were obsessed with this thing called "money", rather than everyone selflessly working for the State for a common cause.
The theme about the Sun expanding is obviously an analogy to global warming. Communism seeks a raison d'etre, such as Mankind facing an existential threat from global warming.
The 2,500 year plan to save the Earth is also a self-nod to the Chinese government. The American government, even in its best long gone days, is utterly incapable of such long term planning.
The movie is action-packed, but in a bad, chaotic way. Maybe no worse than Hollywood action blockbusters, but also no better.
You can watch the movies in either order, since II is a prequel to this one. However, neither movie deserves your time.
