Home Alone
A family comedy without the family.
Eight-year-old Kevin McCallister makes the most of the situation after his family unwittingly leaves him behind when they go on Christmas vacation. But when a pair of bungling burglars set their sights on Kevin's house, the plucky kid stands ready to defend his territory. By planting booby traps galore, adorably mischievous Kevin stands his ground as his frantic mother attempts to race home before Christmas Day.

An original Christmas movie for the whole family and black sheep of families
The church and the subtle teachings and promises of Christ are positively depicted; Kevin goes there for protection and seeking guidance and comfort. As a whole, Christmas miracles and comedic shenanigans from being home alone to warding off two robbers are abound. Family friendly messages of the importance of family are explored; other Godly messages are explored. In one scene, Kevin goes through his older brother's stuff and finds and then immediately tosses aside a porn magazine (thankfully the contents are not shown)- a subtle but great emphasis for chastity. Overall, it is a great Christmas movie.
