The usual British TV bollocks

This is nicely produced and acted but apparently having the protagonist be an Asian man wasn’t diverse enough so that character has been split into a group of five people two women, a black guy, and two white guys. The women are constantly besting every guy in the show and we are constantly reminded of how brilliant they are. The white guys are cast as hopeless losers (sorry Samwell Tarley but true) who are lucky to be in the company of their better friends. Thank you British television.

3 Body Woke

I heard good things about this, especially the opening scene about the Chinese Cultural Revolution and the Red Guards, murder and mayhem. A cautionary tale for our times. Imagine then only to discover the show is chock full of identity politics and DIE casting. Its so bad at first I thought it was a satire. If you like your Sci Fi apolitical, avoid this shite.

Bland, bleak and poorly written

Brought to you by the lame writers of the last two seasons of Game of Thrones, with a woke twist. The world top scientists talk to each other and their bosses with cussing in every second or third sentence. The two white male scientists are losers, cringy dialogues and unlikable characters. One good episode and a couple of interesting characters, the cop and Ye Wenjie. All the chinese period scenes were strong, probably because they were based on the novel. Skip this one for sure.

DEI is mandatory, comrade

3 Body Problem has a problem of too many bodies added for diversity. However, it's pretty decent science fiction.

And for those of you who still think the show is from England, it's not, no. It's North American.

The opening scene brings to life the brutality of the Chinese Communist revolution. Ironically, the screenplay writers seek a new cultural revolution based on wokeness.

The TV series is based on the book written by Communist Chinese author Liu Cixin. He also wrote The Wandering Earth book, which was turned into two movies (and you can find my reviews here). The Wandering Earth book and movies posit a global existential threat that ushers in a United Earth Government, which is highly socialist. These movies are Communist propaganda, and received global exposure due to Netflix.

In the 3 Body Problem, Mankind also faces an existential threat. The United Nations, headed by a black female Secretary General, selects three individuals to be given unlimited resources without questions in order to fight this global threat. None of the three are white (or Jewish). The fate of the world hinges on DEI. I hope this is what the bad guys wanted to happen, and they are pulling the strings to make DEI our downfall.

The unlimited resources won't come from nowhere. Ultimately, the rights of individuals will be infringed and money confiscated to provide those resources. It is a peculiar New World Order, but a New World Order nonetheless and with highly centralized control of resources.

The TV series features DEI casting to an extreme. The smartest characters are women and minorities, while white males are mostly mentally weak. The book's main character, a Chinese male, was split into five for the sake of diversity and to avoid a male-centered perspective.

Admittedly, the concept is intriguing, and I'm hooked after season 1. Just be aware that you're receiving a double dose of Communist propaganda: first from the Chinese book author and second from the woke screenwriters.
