DEI BUFFET
This show delivers a masterclass in modern storytelling if you can stomach its transparent agenda. It serves up a buffet of contemporary tropes: white men exist only as either mustache-twirling villains or pathetic beta males, while Black women dominate the "girl boss" archetype. Desperately clinging to youth, Rosario Dawson had too much buccal fat removed from her face to go with her fake ass wig. Her Super_Beta husband is hilarious. He's always preparing dinner and kissing her ass. The relationship landscape is dominated by gay couples and black/white interracial pairings, all while women strut their "sex positive, independence" in every scene. Beneath the heavy-handed DEI casting that screams "we checked all the boxes," there's actually a decent show struggling to emerge - if you can ignore the obvious ideological shoehorning that permeates every casting decision and the fact that the timeline jigs 3 years every 5 minutes.
