The four central characters are Lena, a young woman from the countryside who comes to try her luck in the big city; Daniel, a poor man who takes an interest in Lena; the wealthy Fernando, with whom Daniel must fight for the young woman's love; and the rich Ana, who has Fernando under her thumb.
