Woke sci-fi
This bears little resemblance to Asimov's Foundation series.
The first hero(ine) is a young, black female mathematical prodigy, apparently smarter than Einstein. Wesley Crusher was annoying in Star Trek: TNG, because he was not realistic, and it's the same problem here. I rationalize that she is not our kind of human, but a separate subspecies, so basically an alien, unlike Wesley. For me, this makes her tolerable and not necessarily a woke Affirmative Action hire. However, she had a race and sex change relative to the book, so that's woke.
Furthermore, half of S02E03 is about a married homosexual couple, including kissing, and it seems we will be stuck with them in future episodes. In the US today, about 0.25% of the population are married male couples (and vastly less for the global population). It's over-representation. It's an agenda. It's woke.
The show has a huge budget, dazzling visuals, and a lot of unique flavor, much like, say, David Lynch's Dune or the new one. But alas, it's woke.

Barely based on the ashes of the summary of Asimov's Foundation
So "woke", that they changed some of the the main characters to be "women", african-american women, just to expiate some imaginary progressive guilt. They've destroyed the whole original material with this abomination. Not even Demerzel, a pivotal character survived this madness. As they wasn't able to secure the rights for his character, they've made Demerzel a robot woman capable of killing, disobeying Asimov's laws of robotics, laws you won't be able to find anywhere, because they aren't even mentioned in the show. If you don't know the original material, you may think this is a "masterpiece". It's not. This is an insult to Asimov's fan base. Don't waste time with this farce. Just read the books and you will find out how good science fiction is really made. And (as if it even need it), Bel Riose is gay now, how about that? Expect "more" of this nonsense in the future.
