Friedrich's Reviews
Not woke, just bad.
If you're like me and come to this site to check which movies are woke and which aren't, let me tell you, there's no woke content here. But honestly, there's nothing gripping either. The story's weak, the acting's bad, and I couldn't even finish it because it was that terrible. It's a shame because Frank Grillo deserves to do well; he's got some solid movies under his belt, but this ain't one of them.

Totally DEI based
I'm not going to spend much time writing these lines since the movie isn't worth it. However, for anyone seeking an objective take on the woke content, it can be summarized as follows:
- Gay marriage has nothing to do with the plot; it's just there for the sake of being there.
- The villains are portrayed as NRA members.
- The bad guys are consistently depicted as following the "white supremacist" trope.
- Meat consumption is portrayed negatively, and the inclusion of graphic slaughterhouse scenes feels completely irrelevant to the plot, appearing more like vegan propaganda.

Yeah! It's woke
I'm not sure if it's worth highlighting all the characteristics that make this film, heavily influenced by DEI laws, such a poor product. Despite the evident effort and aesthetic creativity involved—especially since stop-motion animation is an incredibly demanding medium—the creativity seems to stop there. The narrative feels like a depressing blend of a dramatic European film and low-quality propaganda in a typical indy style.

DEI Crossed
Yes, the waters are shifting in that direction. Although the series is entertaining and only seven episodes are currently available, the screenwriters have clearly made distinct narrative choices that reflect the application of DEI principles. A clear example is (SPOILER ALERT) the inclusion of a transgender character in the cast. However, it’s not this inclusion that makes it “woke.” What highlights Netflix’s injection of political messaging into the Korean production are the excessive explanations and justifications for THAT character’s motivations in relation to the plot, which feel out of place within the dynamics of that universe.

THIS MOVIE IS NOT WOKE
This site allows anyone to rate woke content in a movie and, that, unfortunately brings the following case: Someone in these comments has no idea what WOKE culture is and rated this movie with woke content. I make it simple; it IS IMPOSSIBLE for this movie to be woke because it was not created under the DEI laws that currently apply. That said, I recommend any user of this site to read all comments before drawing a concrete conclusion in all cases, and also, if any artistic content catches your eye, watch it and judge it with your own judgment.

THIS MOVIE DOES CONTAIN WOKE INFLUENCE.
It's not a bad movie, it's not great either, but it has, I repeat, it has woke components that are subtly spread throughout the film; pitting socialist ideals against capitalism and disguising these messages through the use of classic folkloric elements of American culture trying to send the message that it's okay to do everything for love. But love does not pay for studies, not even for trained scientists, neither does it pay for the technological apparatus to be able to carry out the research that the storm chasers do in reality. In conclusion, good cinematographic scenes, mediocre story with high budget and ultra stereotyped characters. Period.
EDIT: Just pointing out that I had to raise the "How bad is the wokeness?" score because, even though I already mentioned the elements that make this movie influenced by DEI policies, it seems some people are stubbornly determined to prove otherwise.
So, to make sure there's no lack of references, I'm sharing more foundations you can check out in a "Snyder's Soapbox" article:

A Disney Experiment
This show is the most accurate representation of the WOKE movement in its PUREST ESSENCE. It takes a universe that doesn't have a lot of audiovisual media (but has been successful) and expands it but with the political agenda of the moment and pushes it to the very limits of that frontier. Not only does the series not narratively fulfill the premise of the show's name, it destroys and minimizes it to the point that it takes away the viewer's love for the original universe, making their interest in the story get lost in a feast of parallel messages that build nothing to the story and have nothing to do with the protagonist. Want to see the most woke show of all? Here it is. A perfect parameter to see how the structure of Disney's agenda and the "majors" is shaped.

A classic set in the 70's. Totally enjoyable
With a classic structure set in the 70's, this dramatic comedy only points out some religious issues without giving a political or moral discourse.
