Fun movie

Phoebe and her mother were definitely the driving forces behind the movie, and the guys were often used for comic relief, but it never felt mean-spirited, which is more than I can say for a lot of movies and shows these days.
I really liked how they handled the step parent angle.

Race and gender are never ONCE brought up.
The lead is an extremely intelligent woman, who is kind and genuine with the people around her.
The male lead is BUTCH and allowed to be so without condemnation.

Fantastic summer popcorn flick.

There's a woman physically beating up a man twice her weight and no less trained than her.

But overall it's a really fantastic movie, one of my favorites!

Super fun show

I'm halfway through season 3 and I freaking love it. It took a few episodes to get going (I quit watching the first time), but after that it's just gold.

Gender, race and sexuality aren't shoehorned in in any unnatural way. There's plenty of ethnic diversity, but it's not treated as important at all! It just is.

The script, character development and plot are amazing.

Does it have problems? Yes

But it's fun and had me laughing. No wokeness at all that I noticed. The main characters are actually nice to each other, and the story is cute.

Horrible

We really wanted to like this show, but every SINGLE scene was man-hating trash. Every single male character was deplorable in one way or another, and every woman was a victim in need of empowerment.
Disgusting.

Still a good show

There are plenty of woke themes like humans ruining everything, but because it's actually relevant to the show's theme (coming back from the future to fix past mistakes) I can let it slide.
There are a few really annoying jabs made, but they rarely affect the actual plot.
One of the female characters is too tough to be realistic, but they do allow women to be vulnerable and saved by men sometimes, so at least it's relatively balanced.
What secured it as a good show to me though, was the ending. It has the best series finale I've ever seen, hands down...

Overall it's a smart, thoughtful show that's worth a watch.
