Stephan McClure's Reviews
Woke'ish
The She'Hulk television show is not your traditional 'Hulk" type TV show. It's less about story-telling and more of the same from Disney as of late. Generally speaking, it's a run-of-the-mill "I'm a woman, therefore men are less" type of show with a freak accident turning a female lawyer into a "Hulk" and her struggle (or absence of struggle) with her new-found power/curse as a lawyer and a female. The CGI and acting were quite great and the script (minus the ideology) was decently written and very light-hearted. To be fair, I didn't make it past episode one so perhaps I'm judging too harshly. As it is though and in my Personal Opinion, The first episode of She'Hulk has forced ideological pandering and is a political statement more than entertainment. I will not be watching any additional episodes.

Jurassic World: Dominion was a great movie for what it was. It stuck to the script you knew it would have, delivered on the action and CGI / VFX that the franchise is known for and brought a nostalgic ensemble of casting back into the franchise. The story was a little bland and a bit Copy/Paste but had a good overall story involving dinosaurs and man's inability to control all aspects of creation. The movie in no way struck me as "woke". There was no forced ideological pandering and / or indoctrination present.

Ghostbusters: The 2016 reboot was an absolute disaster in terms of entertainment. The story was beyond sub-par, the acting was abysmal and the gender slams were beyond obvious. Television is meant for entertainment and an escape from reality, not a reminder of someone's version of it.

DISCLAIMER: Keep in mind everyone views "woke" as something different. As for this show, anyone who's a 'purist' as they call it will not like the show. There's much talk about the attraction, skin color and various other things which to me, do not make a television show woke. My definition of 'woke' is when a forced ideology of acceptance is being placed in a story in lieu of story-telling
The show is a slow-burn story and is a 'prequel of prequels' in the LOTR series. It's not strictly true to the books and definitely takes on it's own twist with the story. Though very slow-paced, the writing and scripting were great, the build-up albeit also slow-paced is engaging just enough to keep interest and the visuals are quite amazing. The acting is above par and while the story does bounce around a bit, it's easy enough to follow if you pay close attention (or watch it twice) If there are any woke elements to this TV show, they were not blatantly placed within the story and if present, does not hinder the story in any way. I seen no obvious ideological pandering or forceful indoctrination. Just Very good story-telling.

Great story line, excellent acting and good art direction. A traditional Stallone powerhouse action movie that's definitely a must-see for fans of action. The super-hero part leaves a little to be desired and the backstory could have been extended a bit but overall, a great Friday night movie. Very little swearing, virtually no gore, tamed violence yet the fight sequences are quite robust and definitely within PG-13 levels. It Contains no elements of ideological pandering and indoctrination. Just great story-telling.
