Lots of Coke, Not Much Woke
While technically based on true events, Cocaine Bear (2023) really is just a high-concept comedy. I liked it quite a bit. One can argue that there is some forced diversity and some of the assigned traits that typically accompany that, but race, gender, and sexual identity aren't played up or directly confronted. Furthermore, most of the characters end up appearing weak, foolish, wrong, or bad at some point, so everyone gets a turn. There are a couple of minor allusions to feminism, but nothing over-the-top. That's especially surprising since the director is outspoken feminist, Elizabeth Banks. The movie is about a bear on cocaine, and it never forgets that. Refreshingly, there is no woke preaching. Only graphic (but cartoonish) violence and outrageous comedy. And lots of cocaine.

Feminazi quips, box ticking galore
Typical feminist hooker Elizabeth Banks takes what could have been a simple smash and scream cocaine fest and frosted it with as much woke shit as she could pour in there. We have dumb men and smart smart feminist women, lots of forced diversity casting, and gay gay gay. Every branch on the "visibility uglies tree" has been hit on the way down, and it's a long way down.
How could anyone ruin a film as easy to make as a bear on cocaine?
The story itself, though, isn't particularly woke.
There are also no socio-political lectures or yay-commies scenes.
So, if you're still lured in enough by a potentially good concept, you can watch it, as long as you are aware you're getting an eyeful of Duhversity and and earful of the screeching banshee that is Lizzy B.

How Was This in Theaters
Not too woke other than over representation of minorities. How this cost 35 million and got released in theaters is incredible. This is straight out of the SyFy channel originals playbook. Horrible acting and dialog. The VFX are just terrible and the bear looks like something out of sharknado. Everyone is an idiot in this, not one likable character. It's not funny and way to stupid to be taken seriously. All the kills are offscreen and all you see is the aftermath so the blood and gore isn't even worth it.
