Surprisingly Woke-free
Fully expected the normalized woke elements. Instead it was an enjoyable experience. Hope it does well. Surprised by the 1 month to streaming transition. I ended up buying it already and it's still in theaters. Maybe Paramount is cash strapped per the latest report on the company?

Agenda & Wokeness
Replacing white fantasy with blackwashing. Interracial couples. Mary Sues. Every woke checkbox marked and etc. There is even a black paladin. Generic story.
Skip this garbage movie for your mind and watch this trailer instead because this is what we could have if it wasn't for antiwhites.

Pretty Woke but Mildly Entertaining
This movie was mildly entertaining (if you are a fan of fantasy/D&D, etc.) and did get me to the end, but it was pretty woke. Most of the woke elements you would expect are present. White guy is the self proclaimed loser and not very useful in a D&D fantasy world. The Barbarian is a small Mexican woman who plays pretty much the same role in most movies and it's the same basic character as Valkyrie from Thor. She beats up a hundred large men and knights with ease, but not necessarily low IQ which you would expect for a fighter class. The big baddie is an ultra powerful white girl witch who can only be stopped by the UN of characters working together. Oh and she is like a ninja at the same time, not to mention she has an entire faction behind her, but they leave it all to her to handle.

Very Woke
I don't know why Chris Pine did this movie. He's great but the wokness is very bad.

Mild woke, still entertaining
The other reviews are accurate. I still watched it despite that. The woke is "limited" to more than just a token black/brown character, overly diverse cast/outnumbering white characters, and interracial couple(s).

Woke but not preachy about it
The worst thing about the movie is that Chris Pine does essentially nothing but get people to help him and make plans. Everyone else is effective but him, but he is so charming and has a good motivation that makes it watchable and I don't feel like the film actively disrespects him.
Now in this film I don't think having a female barbarian who kicks ass is necessarily woke, as we aren't talking about established characters here its like if a group of friends made D&D characters, they would make these characters. Like if Michele Rodriguez made a D&D character that would 100% be her character. And speaking of her, in every other performance she is in, I think she is a bit much, but because this is the first time that I have seen where its a bit tounge in cheek and her persona gets jokes at her expense, I actually liked her quite a bit here.
The main villain kinda sucked. Her powers were intimidating but she looked like a strong breeze would blow her over. Hugh Grant wasn't bad, he did most of the heavy lifting for her.
Justice Smith, who I've seen in other things and found him to be a wooden AF actor, is okay here. They could have gotten someone better, but he could have been worse.
There is quite a few rule deviations in the game, and before you scream nerd, I think they would have heightened the tension a bit. For example Druids can not infinitely shape shift unless they are level 20. I doubt the druid character here is, yet she can. While the chase scene where she does is exciting, I think bringing the number down would have made it more tense. And Bards should have spells. As I said Chris Pine does very little here, and giving him a sword and a spell or two would have taken away my biggest criticism.

Mild Woke Casting But Entertaining
Only woke is the mixed race couples and over representation of non white characters. This is a fantasy world and could be overlooked except it means the casting went out of there way to cast minorities by simple mathematic demographics for available actors. The female barbarian is not woke. It is a class of either male or female characters and yes she is also shown to be rather unintelligent dumb muscle. The film is entertaining enough for what it is . Turn your brain off fantasy. The comedy is decent and the acting is generally good.

Nods to the old beards, more nods to the woke GenZers
Lots of Easter eggs (can we still say Easter? Meh, sod'em) for an older, 1ED player.
Also, exclusively white men bad guys, useless dudes, overpowered females, inexplicable racial diversity, race-swapping, all that good stuff.
Movie itself is popcorn fare.
