Historically inaccurate
The movie portrays Germans from 1929 who left the Weimar Republic but lies in its intro that they are fleeing the rise of facism. Which wasn't yet a thing in Germany. But leftist only know one thing.

Not to sound leftist, but it took me exactly one minute to find that Hitler became the "chair of the Nazi party" in 1921, announcing 2 years later that he wants to overthrow the government.
Unless you think that this guy just materialised as the chancellor of Germany in 1939 and started WWII 20 minutes later, I don't know how you'd find fascism to not be a thing in the post war, 1920's Germany
