Surprisingly good

I remember seeing set images with a bunch of DEI but the movie doesn't reflect those i personally didn't see any (there might have been in the background) but still impressively accurate demographic wise for a movie this days.

Watchable

Other than the eye sore forced diversity among background characters there isn't much. Likely because the main characters are based on real life people so they didn't have what to do.

Historically inaccurate

The movie portrays Germans from 1929 who left the Weimar Republic but lies in its intro that they are fleeing the rise of facism. Which wasn't yet a thing in Germany. But leftist only know one thing.

Not to sound leftist, but it took me exactly one minute to find that Hitler became the "chair of the Nazi party" in 1921, announcing 2 years later that he wants to overthrow the government. Unless you think that this guy just materialised as the chancellor of Germany in 1939 and started WWII 20 minutes later, I don't know how you'd find fascism to not be a thing in the post war, 1920's Germany

Some people seem to think that if they liked something, it simply cannot be woke. Because how can something be woke and good? Small minds fail to comprehend it I heard great things about The Penguin so i'd disagree with the Overall rating, but flagging it as woke is very much warranted
