Even the unsinkable Nurse Ratchet fails to throw a woke wrench into the greatness of this film. This was back in the day when woke hadn't been invented yet. Popcorn, bottoms up.

A Czech who lived under communism makes an rebellious drama with political overtones, and yet the Left claims this film as their own, as if tyrannical oppression is exclusive to the Far Right...
Still, Forman appears to be a leftist, judging from his filmography, so who knows...
There is no clear leftist scamboogery however, it's open to interpretation...
Haven't seen it in decades so not sure how to rate it...
I disagree with 1st reviewer who seems to think that leftism "wasn't yet invented" in the 70s. Left-wingisms had existed in cinema since its beginning... Plenty of Marxist propaganda in 20th-century films...
