Woke AI movie
Subtle, but woke.
The way they wrote the story makes it subversive. It’s set in the ‘80s, and the woman is the one steering the whole plot, turning the male lead into this guy who’s got work problems and can’t deal with them properly. Terrible character development.
The daughter is body-positive and a lesbian, so of course nothing bad happens to her the entire movie. Same goes for her girlfriend (it’s not explicit, but you can totally tell), who’s a minority and also gets zero negative consequences… because she doesn’t have a dick, unlike the dad and the son, who are the only ones that actually take serious hits.
Total disappointment. You go into these movies hoping they’ll be good, and Hollywood just keeps trying to wreck everything it touches with its dumb politics.
Oh, and last thing: the timelines make zero sense. It was only at the end that I realized it was a J.J. Abrams movie… and I could’ve skipped it.
