Another low budget indie action film. It's a basic seen it before revenge movie that would of been right at home in the 90's dollar bins.
Oil worker is on his way home for his wedding with a rescue dog he just found and took with him. On the way home he stops at his estranged
father's house who is on house arrest with an ankle bracelet and 2 officers watching him. Ankle bracelet seems a little pointless if your under constant guard but ok. Then as he's driving the dog in the backseat throws up and he stops at a rest stop to clean him up. A truck pulls up outside and a group of guys comes in and randomly beats the hell out of him. He comes to and takes his dog to the local vet and tells her the dog is hit with something even though it seems fine with no visible wound. The vet pets him and says it's too early to tell if he will live because there is extensive scarring from previous injuries. Really? No examination just by petting his head you already know that? Wow that's a damn fine vet there. He gets a room and decides to stay until the dog is ok. He looks like he barely got into a fight much less beat to hell by a group of guys but seems to develop instant ptsd and jumps at every noise and every person he sees causes panic attacks and delusions. Then it really all unravels and the writing goes off the rails. This is a random attack and none of these people have ever met before. This group of guys then find out he's alive and decide to go after him and kill him. Why? No idea. Most of this movie turns into characters doing stupid things for no real reason. If someone tries to kill you and you
are standing 5ft away from the drivers side with a shotgun as they are escaping do you shoot them or stop and shoot at one of the tires? You guessed it shoot that tire then chase them as they drive away. They crash into a pond and are about to drown. Do you wade out into the pond and try to save him until you remember it's one of the group that beat you up then let him drown? Yes you do. I mean trying to kill you is not as bad as beating you up apparently. I gave up around 45 minutes when the house arrest father casually knocks out the 2 cops and cuts his ankle monitor off with a knife to go help his son. For woke there is a little too much DEI for small town Kansas including the good black sheriff, the restaurant owner and what looks like maybe half Asian veterinarian. The white hick deputy is of course bad and the group that randomly attacked him is naturally all white good ole boys. The acting while not terrible is about what you would expect from this type of movie. Your tolerance for lazy bad writing will affect if you like this or not as it's not the worst and somewhat watchable.
