Watchable but Very Slow and Not Really Horror
Nothing really woke. The cast is almost all women but it makes sense within the story why the men are all gone. The acting is
good and the cinematography is excellent with some wonderful shots. Unfortunately that's about all it has going for it. While it does
an excellent job of showing the hard life of the period living in the dust bowl it does so at a such a dull slow pace. It's another case
of mis-marketing it as horror when it's not at all. There's some attempts at jump scares that don't even work and they shoot a lot of the
scenes in such a way with angels and ominous music to seem like it should be horror but what's happening in the scene doesn't match what they are trying to convey. There's also a lot of characters thinking they see something moving or hear something but nothing ever happens.
