Typical sequel. Almost as good.

The first Accountant is a high standard to live up to. That was the first time since Good Will that I actually liked Ben's acting. The Accountant 2 is one of those movies where most of the good stuff was in the trailers. I would've liked it a lot more if it wasn't for the too-forced situation. The big showdown was at a compound that was holding a dozen or so kidnapped children. They need to be rescued by The Accountant (and his bro). They were being guarded with enough fire power to coup a small nation. Why? I know better than to look for reality in a John Wick style action flick, but, why guard 12 kids with 30 commandos? EDIT... to address the woke elements others have reviewed, the female "commando" type is a result of some brain damage that caused her to be highly aggressive and capable of violence. I didn't put that in the same category as the "woman who beats up men" scenario that's so common in movies and TV. I didn't really see an agenda in it so it didn't register on my woke-meter. I can definitely see how it could, though. Decide for yourself.

125lb female bogeyman?

Chris is a bit stiff in this sequel but John Bernthal is a nice touch. He fits the bill. However this movie didn't escape the Biden-era, feminist writing disease, by insuring the unstoppable, super-serial killer-genius Anais is played by none other than a 5`5", 125lb model with spaghetti arms who can apparently fight and kill men, just like in real life, right ladies? Sure, take a bow. Tiny women are feared for their fighting prowess. This is known.

Wow what a huge letdown after the first one. I can't believe this is the same writer and director. Why would you take a dark, serious, thriller action movie and make a goofy comedy sequel? The characters aren't even the same. Braxton and Chris are portrayed completely different. The highly trained world class assassins are now corny, goofy jokesters. Affleck just looks old and tired. The writing and story are all over the place and jump drastically back and forth between crime thriller and corny comedy. So many pointless long drawn out scenes like the weird speed dating, the line dancing, Braxton arguing with himself about getting a dog. You could of cut at least 45 minutes of pointless nonsense out. What was with the ridiculous seemingly super powered child hackers? I didn't find the female assassin so much as a woke element of just stupid lazy writing. The only thing really woke would be the good illegal immigrants being taken advantage of by white people b.s.
