The woke gets worse the longer it goes on
GOT is famous for awesome elements of dragons and magic and all that, but the deeper the season the deeper the woke. Mostly sexism, lots of gay gay gay, and emasculation of the whole world. Enjoy at your own risk, with a large helping of eye-roll as it goes on.

Game of Thrones: All seasons. Game of Thrones is a story in a mythical land that challenges your what 'you' find to be normal. From incest to same-sex to hetero-sexual interactions, the show is an adult themed fantasy that has a great seven seasons of fantastic story-telling. Season 8 suffered significantly in terms of story-telling and it was obvious that they were trying to 'wrap' up the show quickly to move on to other things. The ending of Game of Thrones left many people unhappy and for good reason. I would not recommend this show simply because of the sloppy story-telling at the conclusion of the series.
As for "woke" content; There are same-sex interactions as well as incest among other things but in the sense of the word "woke", there is no forceful ideological pandering occurring nor is there any blatant attempt at indoctrination.

The first season or two were some of the best television ever. The last season... not so much.
Looking back, I don't remember much woke, but I may have forgotten. Of course, there is incest, but it doesn't seem to be presented as anything other than a story element.

The biggest crime
..is that all its world building, character building and mythology came to mean absolutely nothing in the end. What's that saying about Chekhov's gun? They literally destroyed all the guns in the end making everything utterly meaningless... thus making rewatches unlikely and destroying its legacy.
GOT is adult themed and heavily laden with sex and violence. There is mainly heterosexual depicted but also some gay along with rape and incestuous depictions. There is an over saturation of gratuitous female nudity in the first several seasons which should more than compensate for a little gay.
There are some powerful women but not more so than male and they're about even in the pycho department.
My favorite character through much of the show was Tyrion, a male dwarf.
A character doesn't have to look like or be just like us for us to relate to them.

Woke free for the majority of time and one of the best shows if it ended sooner
It has a good hook in E1 to get you to watch the rest of the series and the pacing is for the most part good. The first 6 seasons along with the banger of a soundtrack make it one of the best TV shows in memory.
It however drastically goes downhill in S7 and especially S8 which is sleep-inducing with the worst possible ending that makes 0 sense for the world and the events that took place the first 6 seasons which drags down the whole series. If it ended in S6 and HBO just said we ran out of material, that'd have been a decent ending but alas.
Wokeness - there is some gay stuff but it's also looked down upon in the world as was the case in Medival Ages so that's accurate and not too much of it. The ending has so much soy and the female Starks get such a good deal out of it that it makes the ending contrast too much with the world and how people operate in it. That is mostly just really bad writing with minor woke but it's mostly just the creators didn't know what to do with the ending. It was also made at the beginning of the woke era so it's safe for viewing and enjoy it if you give it a chance.
