Woke?
I might call this a lot of things but woke probably wouldn't come to mind.
For the most part it's testosterone driven but I suppose that Gemma, Jax's mom, might seem woke to some because of all her power and influence in an all boys club. But successful malignant manipulators come in all genders where she happens to reign supreme and Gemma's having been married to the clubs founder gives her more than average leeway to do her stuff.
There are some nasty scenes of a male rape but that could not be considered woke. Rape is bad whoever the victim.
There is also the appearance of a trans character near the end. I'd almost forgotten. It honestly seemed, at the time, more an inventive way to get another former "The Shield" actors (Walter Groggin) inserted into the show.

.
"Sons of Anarchy" is often considered "woke" because it addresses various social issues such as race, class, and institutional corruption. It portrays complex characters with diverse backgrounds and experiences, including women in positions of power within a traditionally male-dominated biker culture. Additionally, the show explores themes of loyalty, family dynamics, and the consequences of violence, reflecting contemporary discussions around masculinity and ethics.
