Barry's Reviews
Sketch
No woke here. This is from Angel studios, a Christian company. Sketch was better than I thought it would be. I was impressed and entertained. However, they went too far with the violent images created by the girl and then decided she was totally normal and healthy for drawing them. This is an incorrect message. Some younger kids might get a bit freaked out by some of the more intense scenes. They use horror techniques for jump scares and setting the mood for certain scarier sequences but there a ton of laughs in the film too. My other criticism would be unnecessary cursing.

Slightly Woke
An overrepresentation of black characters (if we're going by the "representation based on population method"). Ebonic-type wording changing "cops" to "copz" and "super" to "supa." A dance video made by young girls done to hip hop "music." The two best characters are the antagonist cat and fish. Dog man was cool when he was a regular human with the dog sidekick but after fusing them it just becomes an annoying gross dog with a human body. It cannot talk or much of anything intelligent. Mostly this film is annoying and difficult to watch for adults. I can't imagine anyone over 6 enjoying it. There are some funny and some deeper scenes, unfortunately they are few and far between. Overall it's safe for kids but still has some DEI casting and forced counter culture elements.

Mild Woke
Depending on how we define woke, this film definitely contains woke elements including: homosexual reference with coffee art done by Agent Stone. Racial mixing (if its in the context of ridding the world of white people as we've seen lately). References to Magic Mike. Two extended scenes of shirtless men dancing and playing sports. Apparently one of the writers for this film (they are all men) has a thing for topless muscular dudes. And lastly, in the final battle Robotnik uses a Trump line "good people on both sides." An obvious attempt by these writers to paint Trump as an evil person akin to Robotnik. This should be an innocent kid's film but these writers have taken advantage of it to push their weird agendas. The first film was better.
