Bob's Reviews
More woke, more profiteering
The sequels didn't need to be made. Episode 4 was a self-contained archetypal hero story, that contained all the necessary elements. The others are all just cashing in, and twist the original traditional hero message in the retelling. Like all of holywood, with each new episode, religion, dedication, wisdom, experience, and other virtues take more of a back seat, women do more of the fighting and other male roles, and the men become more campy and silly. At least Luke does mature into a Jedi, over time, through training.

Pretty woke
This is a movie about a devout traditional community, and someone ignoring all the rules of that community and betraying the principles that she was raised with for the modern idea of "free love". Set that aside though, and it's a good movie, certainly not woke by TODAY's standards.
