Duk's Reviews
Artistically Beautiful
If I watched this more cynically, I could find some questionable elements. Overall though, this was fine.. given the current “bash you over the head” climate we now live in. By Disney standards, this is about as Woke-Free as one could hope.

Decent Movie Sullied
Generally this is an okay film. Gal Gadot makes a fine Wonder Woman in this first reboot installment. Chris Pine? Meh. But it’s always a bad sign when they hard stop a movie to do a little social guidance. Example: Moroccan comrade randomly complains to Wonder Woman about lack of representation in acting profession. There are other jarring instances like this that only serve to disrupt the flow of the film and signal to modern audiences that the movie makers are hip to the times. Dumb. Heavy handed. Pandering.

If There Were Any Woke Elements, I Didn’t Care
I couldn’t detect anything woke-ish that made this film unwatchable. I viewed it with a very short leash, ready to pull the plug the moment they began preaching. I didn’t want to ruin my memories of the first film. After about 15 minutes, I set the remote down and just enjoyed the show. In many ways, this was better than the first.

Too Late, 15 Years Too Late
I couldn’t make it more than halfway through. Mr. Incredible is relegated to bumbling buffoon. The female characters lack any trace of humor. The whole movie just feels like an advertising slogan for the agenda. Sad.

Zero Chance This Movie Could Be Made Today
And I’d frankly be surprised if they don’t censor-edit digital streams in the future. This movie is the absolute antithesis of woke. I suggest owning a physical copy.

Wonderful Reunion
I dislike sequels, and I especially hate reboots.. particularly in the current era. This movie would be a Direct to VHS release back in the day, but I’d consider it a good one. It’s more of a reunion than a movie. The acting is quite good, the story fair, the callbacks chuckle-worthy. Overall, it’s a heartwarming tale of nostalgia in the vein of The Hallmark Channel. If you liked the first movie, this won’t ruin that experience. It’s totally Woke-Free.

Pre-Totalitarian Agenda Movement
There is an obvious woke presence in this series, but it’s not insufferable. In fact, it’s largely handled with a nice dose of humor. I’m a fan of the first Captain America film mostly because of Peggy, so I was able to enjoy this series for that.
