Some obvious wokeness, but not strong enough to avoid a good movie !

Very good movie overall, despite some obvious wokeness that won't overpower the quality of this work. Some great actor performances too.

Woke ? Yes ! Good ? Yes ! !

The core is woke, absolutely, definitely. That's the essence of the story. But... It's damn good too, very well executed. Can't skip this one ! I know a masterpiece when I see one. Give this one a chance, if you're a cinema fan.

Excellent show about excellent cops torn between good and evil.

I must admit some woke elements interfered at one point, but within the limits of what I can bear. But we all have our own limits...
Good show, enjoyed it. Could have deserved the second season which was cancelled.

Woke safe. Some elements could bother some viewers (hense the 20%), but frankly, it's unsignificant. On the other hand, what a movie, what a piece of art, what an experience... So disturbing !

This is what happens when a series runs for 12 seasons, crossing the border between the pre-woke world and the woke world... The first seasons are a pure delight! Irreverent, politically incorrect, even downright trashy! And that's what we wanted.
And then... something happened. Imperceptible at first, but then totally unbearable. The show became almost a caricature of itself. So sad...

Manicheism be damned !

I think this show, woke to a certain extent, is nonetheless worth a look. The direction is top-notch, the filming locations heavenly, the cast truly ideal.
Woke elements in a work are a problem when they predominate, when they obliterate the quality of a story or its purpose, but especially when they insinuate that everything is black or white, without the possibility of a contradictory discourse. That's what I liked about this show. Woke elements at certain points in the story are counterbalanced by others later on. The scapegoats of some situations may find themselves the victims of others. Worth a try.

As much as I abhor any form of wokism in the arts, I can't bring myself to totally reject certain works that are certainly somehow contaminated by it, but which are nonetheless excellent. This film is a bright example. The background is indeed woke, in the representation of the male as absolute evil, the reason for all the pain that can be inflicted on a woman. However, I'm not sure that this is the director's intrinsic intention (after all, the husband responsible for his wife's torment is a non-white!), so for once, I don't give a damn! If you like films that are as much films as they are strange experiences, watch it. The last 20 minutes are one of the most wtf moments I've ever seen. Superb photography and musical ambience too.
