Woke 'r Not Official's Reviews
Ok film, not really woke
I enjoyed the premise/concept. An attempted colonization of an alien world goes awry for early settlers because men's thoughts are able to be seen/heard to everyone around them. Which does not affect the women.
It's an interesting dynamic to see played out in the sci fi genre. What can happen when extremism takes over and goes too far. I thought that Daisy and Tom gave good performances in this.. I wish they had developed the whole alien relationship more? There is this species on the planet with the settlers that is blamed for a genocide, but then they are not really mentioned or interacted much with beyond a single encounter.
Aside from some potential feminist undertones, I could not really detect any hints of wokeness in this film. Daisy's character comes out as the typical over qualified female character who "don't need no man" to rescue her and bring her through the challenges they encounter.

Has a gay wedding
Has a scene of a gay wedding, produced by the Obamas.
Steer clear of this one!

It was actually pretty decent
Overall, this was an enjoyable film. I expected there to be really preachy wokeness, especially with the introduction of the baby troll birthed by a man in the previous film.
They sort of touch on that again, but it's only for a brief scene and they aren't super preachy about it. We were sure to have a conversation with our kids about the fact that it was make believe, and that men can't actually have babies.
This film is probably a lot more enjoyable if you had a boy band phase yourself in middle school in the 90's. I thought they riffed on that era really well, and my wife seemed to really get a kick out of all the puns.

One of my favorites
This is one of my top all time Christmas films.
It starts out when two sort of selfish elder millennials are stuck at home from traveling afar for Christmas and are forced to attend 4 different holiday gatherings with their highly dysfunctional broken families.
Hilarity ensues, and over the course of the film, Brad and Kate come to the realization that true happiness and fulfillment in life comes from marriage and a growing family of their own (despite the brokenness of their upbringings)
Any wokeness in this film comes in the form of making fun (like Kate's lesbian phase), but nothing is preachy or in your face.

Decent holiday flick
I thought this was a pretty decent holiday film.. no elements of eokeness detected and had a fairly standard "hallmark style" flare to it.. Great bubblegum for the brain type of thing, but not an earth shattering film.
I saw it through Pureflix.

Heart warming story with no wokeness
I thought this was a very heart warming story about a missed connection. It was a nive way to spend an hour and a half and definitely scratches the Hallmark style movie itch.

Feels like a real story, not hallmark
I finally got a chance to see this movie and really enjoyed it! I particularly appreciated that they used a really raw and real subject matter (loss) and I thought they portrayed the arc of healing really well in a believable way.
Zero wokeness to be found, the network I watched this on (Up Faith and Family) even censors swear words like “whore” and “hell”

Laughs in the face of wokeness
This movie is everything you want to see for something that brings to light the sheer lunacy that is the transgender movement. Men in women’s sports is completely laughable. I loved all the little jabs made throughout the whole movie about a myriad of wokeisms.
There were several actual laughs from me, I was pleasantly surprised that Daily Wire pulled off a comedy film.

Great film about family values
Not a shred of wokeness detected in this film. I like that it actually promotes the importance of connected families and the idea that legacy matters. Remembering previous generations is important.

It was actually pretty good, no wokeness
I went into this movie not really expecting much, but was actually pleasantly surprised. It had a decent story of reconciliation, reconnection, and healing from family trauma framed around the Christmas holiday. It didn't come off half baked or hokey, and the film was well shot.
No wokeness detected that I could tell.
