Renfield
Sucks to be him.
Having grown sick and tired of his centuries as Dracula's lackey, Renfield finds a new lease on life — and maybe even redemption — when he falls for feisty, perennially angry traffic cop Rebecca Quincy.

Not sure if woke, good watch
Did not notice any woke elements. Other than the overrepresentation of a diverse cast, it was funny and entertaining.

Okay film. Minimal woke.
I enjoyed the film, but wouldn’t call it a must watch except minimal wokeness. Like the other reviewers there is over representation of certain groups, but at least it isn’t an in your face white hate type of thing and a white person was not denied a lead role. Film was enjoyable and fun, and would recommend a watch, but no a can’t miss type of film.

Wasted Opportunity
Large amount of DEI casting. All the men are either morons, betas or villains. All male police force is corrupt or bumbling idiots and the only ones who are competent and not corrupt are the 2 Asian females. Awkwafina as a cop is laughable. She is 5'1 beating up on large men 2-3 times her size. Head of the crime family is female. The acting is decent but the humor is just silly and terrible and never lands. The horror is also a miss. The splatter gore effects are pretty good and this could of been a good cult classic if they dropped the stupid humor and made it more serious horror.

Could have been excellent
Hoult and Cage are brilliant - for once, Cage is not the only main character. Hoult is shaping up to be consistently good.
The movie itself is tongue-in-cheek, colourful and irreverencious.
Sadly, it's marred by girlboss syndrome - which could make sense in context - but males are uniformly bubbling incompetents. It's played for comedy, but, white blokes exclusively.
Awkeye final - Aqua fina - the female lead - seems close to developing an acting ability. Also, comedic timing. Same character, same act as in Shang-Chi.
It's wonderful that her career began before she was ready. I mean, for her, not for us. Must be her physique. Or not. I hear she's a rapper too. Hopefully, it's all I hear.
I really liked the photography. It is, as previously stated, colourful. And expressive. Far from the usual Hollywood orange and teal.
Good movie, sadly trying to trend toward the 'modern audience', which I am not part of.
Could have been excellent with a less sexist/racist script, and a better actress.
