Only watch if you enjoyed LOST before the last couple seasons...
It's one of those more questions than answers type shows like LOST was the first few seasons. I hope it doesn't drag on and we get the same type of terrible ending just to 'be done' with it. It's interesting enough to keep me wondering what will happen after each episode but unfortunately it has lesbian relationship at the end of season 1. It's not something that is harped on long with all the other crazy things going on, usually pretty easy to skip their scenes together and not miss much.
I didn't notice much else as far as 'Wokeness' goes but I think all races are represented well here and haven't noticed that being brought up as an issue or conflict in the show so far.

Intriguing in spite of itself
There's definitely some wokeness here although it's not so much in the diversity itself. Diversity is nothing new for several decades now.
But how intentional is it in the hiring of actors and how much does it really make a difference is the question..
The only way it might make any difference is that some of the characters fall flat and lack charisma and some of the general interactions between the actors lack chemistry. Were some hired for the wrong reason?
One unnecessary sub plot is a romantic triangle between the male Asian deputy and the female doc and her druggie girlfriend. There's enough stuff going on in the show without throwing this in the pile.
All that being said are that my favorite characters right now are the black sherriff ( Harold Perrineau..the biggest actor in the cast) and the asian american deputy.
Although all the characters aren't so likable the story itself is intriguing and keeps me wanting more..There's not a lot of scifi horror around these days We need this
