No woke, standard war flick
Don't you love it when war films do what they are supposed to do and just show you how bloody and horrible war is? No high-heeled feminazis, no four-star generals who are for some reason 26-years old, black and gay to tick a bunch of boxes. The only agenda is "peace, dudes."
And that's what you have here. No woke.

Nah, not woke.
Whether you think the film is convincing or realistic is up to you, but there is no woke in it whatsoever. A good old army film, and remember kids, war is bad.

No woke, but a lot of screaming
Legend has it that our lead actress took revenge on the filmsy character directing by Spielberg by marrying him. But is the film woke? In no way shape or form. Plenty inclusive with memorable, loveable characters like Short Round, but no isms, ists or rats.
Boulder-squishing fun for all.
If you can get past the shrieking.

Woke hasn't caught up here
No fancy feminists, no "evil white boogeymen," no politics or lectures. A historical piece with a still un-woke DiCaprio at the helm.

Woke free
While the historical veracity of the film will be under debate for all time, the film holds up as being great entertainment. William Wallace's name will be remembered all around the world for all time due to Mel Gibson's blue face paint and the stray arrow-in-the buttox clip.

An elegant depiction of a series of events rarely remembered in western history. Charming and lovable characters you genuinely worry for. Well directed, well written, and good entertainment the way movies should be made.

Another take
No woke, just zombies and a dude trying to save his family. When you discard all the social messaging and politics, you're left with the bare bones of zombie awesomeness, and that's what this film is about. No woke.

No woke, just silence
Scorcese's love opus that took decades to get made, and Scorcese is one of the few directors you can guarantee will not woke-ify a film. A beautiful depiction of a man questioning his faith, in a rarely-depicted era of history that begs more research from the audience. No woke.

Chick flick lesbos
It's a chick flick. Emasculation, evil white men, lots of butch lesbian not-sex and fat women in cling wrap.
The original novel was a lesbian love fest, but the director cleaned it up a bit for the screen. If you're a middle-aged overweight homemaker with a sofa and a pint of cookie dough icecream, it's for you.
Yeah, woke-ish.
But chick-flick woke-ish.
