Not a romance
"Companion" revitalizes a familiar theme with style and flair. Its trailers, ads, and reviews tend to spoil, but I will be vague. I can say it is quite woke.
In her sexy ditsy girl role, Sophie Thatcher speaks like Juliette Lewis, perhaps deliberately copying her. Her character evolves past that stereotype. Meanwhile, except for the homosexuals, the men get very dark roles. They are abusive towards women, at best treating them as sex objects. And the homosexual stuff is a bit in your face. So, it is most definitely woke, sinister propaganda.
This film is violent, woke, and not for everyone. It's worth a watch if that doesn't discourage you.
