Woke free
While the historical veracity of the film will be under debate for all time, the film holds up as being great entertainment. William Wallace's name will be remembered all around the world for all time due to Mel Gibson's blue face paint and the stray arrow-in-the buttox clip.

An elegant depiction of a series of events rarely remembered in western history. Charming and lovable characters you genuinely worry for. Well directed, well written, and good entertainment the way movies should be made.

Another take
No woke, just zombies and a dude trying to save his family. When you discard all the social messaging and politics, you're left with the bare bones of zombie awesomeness, and that's what this film is about. No woke.

No woke, just silence
Scorcese's love opus that took decades to get made, and Scorcese is one of the few directors you can guarantee will not woke-ify a film. A beautiful depiction of a man questioning his faith, in a rarely-depicted era of history that begs more research from the audience. No woke.

Chick flick lesbos
It's a chick flick. Emasculation, evil white men, lots of butch lesbian not-sex and fat women in cling wrap.
The original novel was a lesbian love fest, but the director cleaned it up a bit for the screen. If you're a middle-aged overweight homemaker with a sofa and a pint of cookie dough icecream, it's for you.
Yeah, woke-ish.
But chick-flick woke-ish.

This one should get a pass
In the wake of Burn Loot Murder riots, films like this get a bad rap, but this was not a race-baiting or woke film. It made you think, made you feel, and promoted the interracial understanding we had way back in the 90's. Where oh where did that inclusivity go.
Viewed with revisionism, this is a woke film. But viewed with objectivity, perhaps it shouldn't be.

In retrospect, woke, but...
this was a great film which was not heavy-handed with the woke. It made you think, made you feel for the characters, and gave a grand sense of humanity to its purpose. It's about "evil white men," because all race films are, but doesn't promote white guilt or stir anger. Mild woke, and that's only in retrospect of the angrily Burned Looted and Murdered society we're living in at the moment. It will probably overcome this moment and live on as a good film.

Meh, it's a chick flick.
Women back in the day liked certain levels of emasculation in their guys and no one does it better than Will Ferrell. It's only very mildly woke a chick flick, since it doesn't push gender ideology or destruction of the family unit. No overt racism or politics, either.

While the film is actually quite good and has a shocking ending that has you searching about the veracity of it, it's borne of the seed that is transgender woke before they tried to force-feed it to all our kids.
Woke, woke, woke and fake-dick woke. But still a good movie.

A historical masterpiece, kinda cliche at this point, but no woke. Lots of socio-political commentary, but Gump is above it all and takes no part in any of the wokeism of whatever era he may bumble his way into. Heartwarming and funny, and woke free.

The movie faps to Hillary Clinton
if you're a fan of Hillary, you may want to rally behind this film, because it's hard to like. It's slow and repetitive, giving the audience nothing new while emasculating a genre which generally appeals to dudes (and chick who like things that go boom, like me). It's a matter of taste, maybe you'll like it. As long as you wish Hillary won the election.
