A Proper Bloody Film
Who the hell can look at this film and say it’s woke? Are you taking the piss?
Honestly, if you think ALIENS is woke, just go read a dusty old book or play solitaire, you absolute melt. Leave the cinema alone.
This is proper film-making. A proper story. A bloody classic, the way they used to make them. Well written, well acted, entertaining as hell. The kind of film you watch with a massive tub of popcorn and walk out happy.
The hippies running Hollywood right now should be forced to watch this on repeat. Maybe then they’d finally learn: just tell a fucking story. Stop shoving “the message” down everyone’s throat like it’s medicine and we’re all naughty children.
We don’t need a lecture. We need a movie.
ALIENS is an excellent, proper classic. Popcorn entertainment done right.
Now that’s how you do it, you bunch of pretentious bastards.
Take notes.

After seeing the trailer and reviews I had to give this a shot. I normally like these types of movies, a throwback to the weirdness of some of the 80's and 90's films. It's watchable I guess but not that good either. It's one of those movies where they just make everything as weird as possible just for the sake of being weird. The acting is fine but the CG is very inconsistent, notable the creature FX are pretty bad. The story is barebones and makes little sense, actually the whole movie is kind of silly and the final 30-40 minutes falls all the way into over the top comedy. This was originally written as a single episode of the short failed amazing stories revival from 2020 and never filmed. The director then turned it into this movie. I would say it would of worked much better as a shorter episode of an anthology series than what this turned out to be. I don't know how this is getting woke free ratings either, the minority overrepresentation is pretty heavy everywhere you look. There's the token butch female assassin and then the Ugandan born black female FBI agent is hilariously cringe levels of DEI casting.

It could’ve been a good series
What could’ve been an excellent show, they completely threw it in the trash.
SPOILERS:
They had the perfect casting that any Spider-Man Noir fan could dream of. Nicolas Cage was absolutely perfect for the role. BUT NO: Why give the fans what they actually want when we can shove in "the message" by cramming in a fat “body positive” chick who lectures and moralizes the alpha male of the series, telling him what he can and can’t do????
Like Rings of Power, the Amazon producers decided to pull the same shit again.
Fuck u AMAZON and all the Sony producers who suck three dicks and don’t give a flying fuck about what the fans want.
No. Just no.

A generic western that hits all the usual clichés. The acting is all over the place with some good and some pretty poor. The dialogue feels like
it's way off for the time period and everyone sounds way to modern. There's also the strange choice of casting a bunch of non American actor who all seem to keep their native accents or do a poor English one making this feel like a badly made foreign film pretending to be set in the U.S. Shot on location in Montanan the scenery and cinematography are wonderful. The writing isn't too bad but there are some problems like characters who have a clear line of fire and the element of surprise and still miss shots, there's a character towards the end that makes a really obviously dumb decision for no reason. Brosnan in particular seems unbelievable in the physical stunts and fights with much younger actors given he's in his 70's. There's some woke mixed in and of course Jackson's character says he was wrongfully sold as a slave by a white man. Given the time period it's possible but the way it's told seems like a pointless addition that does nothing for the story. His character brings up his race several times. There's also the lone good Indian female oddly played by a German born actress of Peruvian/Swiss/German decent with a way out of place accent for an American Indian. Not sure what they were thinking with that casting. The movie's not terrible and somewhat watchable specifically if you like westerns but there are much better out there.
Mild spoiler..
The family group that's one of the villains consists of a bunch of brothers and 1 sister that they treat badly. Guess which one turns out to be good
and takes revenge on her brothers for overlooking her.

The only thing woke is the DEI casting. Only 4 characters in the movie, 2 white males, 1 Asian male and 1 black female. Basically the entire movie
is 4 friends stuck in an endless loop driving in a car talking. That's pretty much it. Definitely not fantasy/horror/sci-fi as marketed. The acting is
ok but nothing special and it's a well made movie. It wants to be much more clever than it actually is but overall it's kind of boring and in the end pretty pointless. I get that it's an allegory for graduating college and getting thrust into the real world and the meaning of life, but it's all still
boring. I would give it a 2.5 but am rounding down to 2.
Edit..
Spoilers...
The more I think about it I'm upping my woke score. Given that this is basically their journey through life after college, the first one to 'give up' pretty early on is one of the white males who does so alone. Then the 2nd white male and black female agree to stop and get out together, this could be seen as pairing up and 'living their life out together' in other worlds the mixed race couple. The one who goes on to the very end and never stops is the Asian male. I may be reading into something that's not there but it does seem a little suspicious.

Another opportunity thrown under the train
Coming straight from Odenkirk’s production company, I was actually hopeful it wouldn’t be like the last Nobody 2. Once again, you really can’t trust anything in the entertainment world, you gotta watch it yourself.
And just like with the first NOBODY, I thought they’d play it safe and ditch all the woke stuff and DEI bullshit (well, not that the first one was perfect, but it was watchable).
Nope… not even close.
But here’s the thing: the movie starts off promising. The first 20/30 minutes introduce the characters and it feels like it’s gonna be a straight-up dumb action/comedy where they just kill everything that moves. For a few moments it even tries to be that… but then the obvious woke writing kicks in and just ruins the whole thing.
In the end it’s just another completely skippable movie. I was really hoping it wasn't like that. It has its moments buuuut
You’re honestly better off watching any old-school action/comedy classic you’ve been saving for. If you’re in the mood for that kind of vibe, I recommend go do that instead.

Could have been great!
Once again woke Hollywood has to insert a female assassin to appease the man hating feminists that can't accept basic biology. To suggest that Pryanka can beat up men twice her size is so infuriating and pathetic. At least in the 80's bad ass action hero's looked the part. Stallone and Arnold were jacked and looked like they could kick ass. Today, weak, small women are shoved down our throats pretending to be elite fighters. The story about the secret operatives being identified was good but stop inserting women in male roles and this would be a hit.

A sort of throwback to 90's 2000's road trip comedies. Unfortunately it's just not funny. I made it 45 minutes and gave up without a single laugh. These types of movies are always over the top and pushing the boundaries of plausibility but this one is just ridiculous.
The acting isn't very good despite having some capable comedic actors. It's extremely cliche and boring, then there's the usual woke garbage.
Large DEI overrepresentation, all the male characters are imcompenat idiot and the females are smart and capable. The lead male is an over
the top annoying whinny beta cuck. It could be worse but it's still not very watchable.

A cute little romcom from the early 2000's. More humorous than laugh out loud funny though there are a couple of those as well. Pretty typical of these types of movies. Good acting and some decent jokes and nothing woke. Good soundtrack as well. Worth a watch if you like romcoms.

Funny little indie comedy. More of a drama comedy I guess but pretty well done. Good acting and humor and some decent writing. The main male lead is a bit of a loser but it's the character and not a generalization of all male characters. There is a comment about white privilege but it seems to be more in the context of showing how brainwashed thinking like this is dangerous. The character that says it has problems and is in constant therapy and I don't think it was done in the context of being woke. It's one comment and I don't remember anything else woke. Recommended if you like more subtle indie comedy lite movies with some dysfunctional characters.

A total letdown
The premise is actually really strong: a post-apocalyptic world where a virus killed almost all men, leaving just one guy alive. Could’ve been a fascinating story about society collapsing and rebuilding.
Instead, it’s a total letdown. They ignore the big picture and focus on boring personal dramas, love triangles, and petty bullshit.
The main character is especially awful. They turned him into the dumbest, most unlikeable idiot possible. You root against him from episode one.
On top of that, it’s loaded with heavy-handed woke propaganda. Almost every man is portrayed as garbage or irrelevant, while women are shown as superior. There are constant cheap shots at conservatives and men in general. One scene even had a trans guy saying men “earned” being hated. That was the last straw.
Bad pacing, weak writing, flat acting, and almost zero interesting world-building.
Massive wasted potential. Just another infuriating, preachy show that deserves to be cancelled.
Not worth watching.
