The show is very good but... woke!

This show is about firefighters but has a good trama and great charachters. Nevertheless, there are every now and then messages on how girls are as badass as boys, or maybe better. Slowly non-white girls get over becoming captains, lifting weights like men, etc.

1. This anime doesn't feel like canon to the movie. Very loosely based on the movie.
2. The intro songs don't make much sense to the series and feel way too much "sexual."
3. The action scenes or some serious scenes have weird moments (animation-wise). Like, sudden duplication of characters, sudden stopping, and making the scene look like a pencil drawing, which would make sense if it happened at the end of the episode, but it happens randomly, etc. All of these make the animations weird.
4. Why don't 044 & Ultraviolet have any nipples? It's not pixelated or hidden by light; it's just not there. If the reason for it was that it was aired on Animax, then why show nudity stuff at all? The only answer I can think of is she (044) is a DNA copy, and they made some "errors"! But what about Ultraviolet?

Ok movie, minimal wokeness.

Movie was ok... though it felt a bit low-budget on a few things. (Number one being they have someone else doing Dracula instead of Sandler.) Other than the typical girl power stuff (which gets a pass when they're monsters with special abilities.) it didn't have anything woke I noticed.

More Fun Then It Should Be

Basically a homage to 90's stoner comedies and actually does a good job with it. The acting is pretty good and it's typical of those types of comedies. Stupid, silly and yet somehow fun. Your enjoyment of this will depend on how you feel about those types of movies. It hits all the clichés and follows all the usual rules. Probably not for everyone but I enjoyed it enough. The only real woke is maybe some overrepresentation in DEI casting. I'm giving it a one for that but even that isn't that bad or all that over the top.

Great movie!

What can you say about this film?
Look, if you grab a magnifying glass and start dissecting it like some sad little nerd, you’ll probably find some square rock with the corners conveniently rounded off so nobody gets poked. There’s always something, isn’t there?
But anyway…
It was bloody entertaining. I walked out of the cinema proper buzzing, smiling like a fool, feeling like I’d just watched a proper movie from the ‘90s or early 2000s. You know… when they still made them good.

Another hurricane/horror movie. Starts off ok, there is a large hurricane approaching and most people are acting appropriately. Boarding up, businesses are closing, people leaving town. However then they say the interstate is closed due to flooding. What? The storm hasn't made landfall and its barely raining yet they closed the evacuation route? Nope. Then a character who's standing on a dock by the water has a printout showing the storm right off shore and says it's so big they may have to create a category 6. The graph clearly labels it as a cat 4 with 172mph winds. That would be 5 not a 4 plus those winds are very
bad but there have been storms that strong in reality so not as outrageous as they make it sound. On top of all that if it was that close to land conditions would be terrible already yet it's not raining there is no wind and the sun is shining as they look at storm clouds out to sea. The lazy writing is already showing at only 10 minutes in. We are then told it's 22 minutes until landfall yet people are still out driving around, getting supplies. Mandatory evacuations are playing over the radio which in reality would be a shelter in place notice, 22 minutes is way to late to attempt an evacuation. Once the storm makes landfall consistency goes completely out the window. Cutting from
scenes of extremely high winds and storm surge flooding the town to people still out driving around with light rain and little to no wind. Within minutes of landfall and flooding there's 2 people paddling around on a tiny boat and one of the characters claims 'I can't see a damn thing' while it's barely raining with clear visibility!! They pull up a satellite view of the town during landfall mind you and get a clear view of the town with no clouds in sight!! How did this trash director get 30 million in funding for this horrible garbage movie? I'm done
I can't take it anymore this is utter garbage. I made it 30 minutes and that's it.
Woke aspects-
There are 2 main families, a black uncle and his niece who are a normal decent family and he's smart well spoken marine biologist and a good Uncle, and a white trash redneck family and with 3 foster kids where the father is a p.o.s. moronic loser who treats the kids like garbage. Turns out they are just using the kids to get a government paycheck. All the white characters seem to be idiots with the black family being the only rational smart ones.

Some woke casting

Jon Hamm does a great job and the show is entertaining. Thad said, a few women have roles in his criminal activities that I'd say are a bit of a stretch. The woman running the pawn shop and the maid are at times a bit too girl bossy. Otherwise, an enjoyable show.

The person this is based on's ex wife was spanish so that is accurate and not a woke element. Also the best friend in the story was kept
mostly secretive to who he really was so having a black character is entirely possible. He's barely in it anyway and race is never brought up. There is the pastor and his wife who are mixed race white male and black female but I couldn't find if this is accurate or not. It could be a woke moment but I can't say for sure, and again race is never mentioned. The acting is good and this seems to be very accurate to the real story. Every time something would happen and I was sure there was no way it could be true and sure enough it turned out to be true. It's surprising how someone this smart could be so stupid at the same time. I feel like the movie drags a bit especially in the second half and could of been a bit shorter. Overall not a bad movie but it's not really what I was expecting. A decent watch and at least it doesn't seem to make a lot of it up like so many true story story movies do now.

Even the Japanese have been infected; impressive and boring.

Saw a few episodes, my youngest is still a pokemon fan. I seem to remember pokemon is typical Japanese short-hand for pocket monster, but let's not.

Visually very impressive, very short and incredibly bland episodes.

Woke notch because of wonderful black girl, stupid white man.

Heck, took a minute to check, Ai, who voices black girl, is mixed-race, because representation thingy is important, but Okuno, who voices white guy, well, check the pictures below, Japanese good ol boy (bloke was in Shogun!), representation out the window as usual.

It seems even more intentional as one considers that hafus are pretty rare and (/ because) not all well-accepted in Japan, especially when the non-Japanese parent is not Asian or white either.
Well, Ai's father is apparently Lebanese, which is black enough (ie, rest of the world to the Japanese), and well, black hafus are rare even in fiction.

A woman gets turned down for an Air bnb rental and they immediately blame racism because her last name is middle eastern then say the white guy gets accepted because of white privilege. They arrive at the very large nice house on the beach and the white guy that meets them there is driving a beat-up pickup. The middle eastern girl gives him a weird look and asks if this is his house in a very condescending tone clearly because she thinks he's white trash. She then says she didn't mean anything by it, so then after introductions of the 2 white brothers he asks how she got mixed up in this family. She takes offense and calls him a p.o.s. She then starts asking him if he
turned her down because of her name pretty much calling him a racist to his face. Typical hypocrisy of the woke. It's only 8 minutes and we already have fake white racist claims by the actual minority racist. I hate her smug entitled face at this point and the movie is pretty much already ruined at only 10 minutes in because of 1 racist hateful nasty character. For some inexplicable reason both the white brothers are after her even though she's a horrible miserable person.
They act like the home owner is creepy and an asshole yet he hasn't actually done anything at all at this point other than have them treat him like garbage and accuse him of being a racist. So after 20 minutes of nothing but screaming 'the white guy is racist' the whole time I'm done with this trash. Recommend avoiding this at all costs.

Well, this one’s tricky

I waited quite a while for someone to watch it first so I could know if it was woke or not. But since nobody said anything, I went ahead and watched the entire first season.

Straight to the point: Is it woke? Yes, it is. It checks all the diversity boxes, and there’s (NO SPOILERS) one character that fills the typical “poor victim” quota you usually see in Apple productions.

But is it entertaining?

Yeah, honestly. Even with the diversity elements and a character doing some occasional girl-bossing, it doesn’t ruin the story. I was actually surprised they didn’t lean harder into the usual woke topics they normally push in Apple shows.

So I started watching the second season.

By Apple’s woke standards, this one is pretty watchable.

Very entertaining.

This movie is over-the-top in a Rambo sort of way. The acting is great. The story is action-packed. The fight scenes are intense. Mostly, the lighthearted, confident, tough-guy attitude in the face of mortal danger is kind of like Dumas' original stories. It's like superhero for adults. It's a fun watch. There's no DEI or woke agenda.
