Why is this movie relevant again?
Because some corrupt threw money around to get it nominated, even though it’s a Z-list movie that only deserves to sweep the Razzie Awards 2026. It has:
• Bad cinematography
• Terrible acting → especially Michael B. Jordan’s performance, which is downright awful
• A really weak narrative that doesn’t even feel authentic
I won’t drag this out.
The movie is awful and doesn’t deserve a single nomination it’s getting, least of all an Oscar nod.
That said, there is one upside: the noise around it is so loud that you can clearly see the strings being pulled (and you’ve been able to for a while now), and that’s actually a good thing. Very good, in fact.

Why do I keep watching these movies. This yet another Kate Beckinsale streaming dung pile. She's back with her raspy deep smokers voice again and still don't know how that happened. The acting and action scenes are terrible. Claiming it's based on a true story is so far removed from the truth it might as well be a lie. She has her daughter kidnapped and becomes a depressed protester for the next 5 years from what I could tell. Then randomly joins 2 men that do child recovery in exchange for them finding her daughter. Why would they need the help of an 90lb white trash soccer mom? We don't know. Who are these 2 guys that are doing this? We don't know. They seem pretty inept at their jobs and stand out as suspicious everywhere they go. They also seem to just travel around the world grabbing kids in foreign countries in public during the day while randomly pulling guns on and assaulting local civilians. The writing makes no sense and is laughable. Her daughter is kidnapped in the middle of the day in a busy large store and nobody sees anything and there are no cameras anywhere. As for woke the main characters husband is Syrian so we have the usual mixed race box checked. Though it actually serves a purpose in the story this time. The DEI token black character. I only made it to the 40 minute mark but I wouldn't be surprised if by the end the tiny woman is kicking large male ass.

A very good studio Ghibli film from 2010. I would say this one is family friendly and safe for kids. The usual great animation and voice acting. I watched the English dub for this one. The story is pretty good and there is nothing woke here. While the main story focuses on an independent female character she's not super powered and flawless. All the characters are well rounded both female and male. I would recommended this one is for adults as well if you like animated films.

Strange movie from 1992 out of Japan and studio Ghibli. Great animation as you would expect and the English dub that I watched was
ok. However at times it's very silly and childish and others there is some odd sexual innuendo and an entire storyline about the main character who appears to be in his 30's going after a 17 year old girl. There is also a lot of sexualization of this same 17 year old character. I found the entire movie a bit creepy to honest. It's even odder given all the girl power stuff alongside it. The story really isn't even that great in my opinion. I would say this definitely has woke feminism in it. The 17 year old female is constantly claiming she's discriminated against because she's a woman and she is said to be a better smarter worker than her brothers. The entire family that shows up to basically rebuild and engineer his airplane is all the women from the family. Even if you like studio Ghibli movies I would say this is one to skip.

So much for a 'conservative' show.
So I seen several things saying this show is conservative and anti-woke.
It doesn't have the 'modern audience' bs like trannies or gay shit so far.. but it very much has the other thing that has ruined shows and movies for years that seems to be so common now people seem to ignore it, but it's under wokeness (feminism).
Alot of simpery and a couple of cuntish, bitchy women.. of course the main character seems to be falling in love with the bitch with a bad attitude who is disrespectful.
I watched the first episode and won't be going back to it. It could have been good, but those elements give me no desire to keep watching.
If this is a preview of new 'conservative filmmaking' as another site said, they will have to do better than this nonsense.

Another movie based on a book I haven't read so don't know if it's an accurate adaptation. Basically a drama following the tragic life of a man and his ability to adapt to changes set mostly in the early 1900's until the 1960's. It's a beautifully shot film with excellent scenery and the acting is great as well. There's not really a lot of story in the traditional sense other than just following this man's life experiences. There are a couple of minor issues. For some reason it follows the current trend of having
the characters speak in low tones and whispers and in some cases barely audible 'mush mouth' making it really hard to hear what they are saying without turning your volume up. I don't know why this a thing now, it's terrible. They also decided to shoot in a 3:2 aspect ration instead of usual widescreen. While it does give the film a more older look to it with most of it taking place in open outdoors and forests it feels like you are really missing out on a lot of beautiful cinematography. What should feel like a wide open spaces now feels like closed in and more claustrophobic. Once you get used to it it's not a big dead but I feel like this was not a great decision. Is it woke? I guess a little though the time periods make this a little harder to judge. It takes place during the railroad and
logging boom and deals a little with Chinese immigrants that were here for work. There is a disparaging comment about Chinese illegals being
mass deported and a scene with a group of white men attacking and throwing an immigrant off a bridge. He is then traumatized and sees the
immigrant in his dreams. There is also a weird scene where a black character randomly kills a religious white character in revenge for killing
his brother over race. This type of stuff may of happened around then but it feels a little forced in though the story is about tragedy following this character wherever he goes so I'm not really sure. These are minor issues and not the focus of the movie and still worth watching. Be warned this is not a feel good happy movie, it is a sad depressing one, but very well made and acted.

Yes, it is woke. It was made with the “help” of Irish, British, and Spanish taxpayer money.
As if poor little HBO at Warner Discovery needed public funding to afford a series. Good joke! tell me another one.
But is it good quality? Not really. Since it’s woke as hell, the “good” men are stereotyped as dumb, weak, and easily manipulated, while the smart or powerful men are portrayed as the bad ones.
On top of that, and this was mentioned in the other comment, which ties in perfectly, forced diversity is obvious. That alone wouldn’t be the main issue, but they also gave characters different accents, making them hard to understand, supposedly for “period authenticity,” while at the same time pushing forced diversity, which completely breaks that excuse.

At least three seasons did not have woke, and were entertaining.
This is an extremely well-written and absorbing TV series if you like a middle ages setting that has lots of intrigue and good storytelling.
It's not family friendly because of all the sex and violence. I stopped watching after the third season because the violence was too much for me. But I saw no wokeness being pushed during that time, just lots of R-rated material that would be difficult to explain to children.
As everyone knows, seasons 7 and 8 wrapped up the series with very disappointing storytelling, and ruined the whole show for many. (I was long gone by then.)

Watched this long ago, it was only mild woke
I watched this years ago, and I remember guessing that the bad guy would NOT turn out to be the middle eastern man people were worried about (and I think the second season was around 2001-2002). The pretty blond female was the second season main villain, surprise surprise.
It was an exciting, innovative series, and not ultra woke like today's Hollywood.

Classic 80's slasher. The acting isn't the greatest, but if your a horror fan it is a lot of fun. Some pretty decent kills and if you find the uncut version there is some great blood and gore FX for the time, even if you can only find the heavily cut R version it's still better than average slasher for it's time. The story is nothing too original but it serves it's purpose.

Mission Improbable The Final Wokening
Finally got around to watching this. What happened to this franchise? I sat down to watch this nearly 3hr long bloated mess of a movie and made it to the 1 hour mark and had to stop. I tried again the next day and just couldn't take it so I skipped forward through the rest of it to see how it all ended. For a franchise known for it's big over the top action scenes there is surprisingly little action in this. The entire first 60-80 minutes is literally nothing but flashbacks to previous movies and exposition dumps of characters trying to explain this convoluted plot. The actual movie doesn't really start until around 80 minutes or so. There are plot holes galore and writing inconsistencies. Cruise is just looking way to old, bloated and badly botoxed to be believable in this role anymore. There are strange camera angles, jarring scene transitions and conversations from 2 scenes (sometimes one of them is a flashback) taking place at the same time cut together that are so confusing it's hard to follow. You could make a drinking game out of how many times they say 'The Entity'. Speaking of which who came up with that horrible name for an AI program? Then there is the woke. There are plenty of other reviews on here pointing it out, and it's all there. Way over the top DEI casting, all power and leadership positions are minorities and or female. The usual tiny females easily manhandling trained much larger men. There was at least one bulging steroided out he/she/it thing in one eye bleeding scene. White men are of course bad. If you must watch it you can pretty much skip the first hour or at least fast forward through most of it.

Based on a true story and from what little I could find seems to be fairly accurate. Takes place in 1969 and is about Audrey Evans who developed cancer research and co founded the Ronald McDonald house. The acting is pretty good and the everything looks like it's in the time period. The story is interesting and what she was able to accomplish is incredible. The character is unfortunately not portrayed in a very likable manner, though it may be true. She is very reckless, self centered and sometimes just annoying. Everything is always me, me, me and I should get whatever I want regardless of how it affects others or if it's even legal or ethical in some cases. The end results are a good thing but the way she went about it is terrible. At one point she literally cost other departments at the hospital roughly 650,000 in funding just so she could get 350,000 for herself. The description for the movie claims she fought sexism to accomplish what she did except there is no actual sexism on display other than that women couldn't get a mortgage without a man signing in 1969. All the men who are mad at her and dislike her not because she's a woman but because of the way she acts and her selfish do whatever I want nature. I originally was going to mention the large black representation as woke however a quick search shows the black population of Philadelphia where this took place in 1969 was actually 34% so maybe not unrealistic after all. I'm still giving it a woke score for pushing fake sexism even in just the description.
