construction worker is depicted as a weak beta man who constant forgives and follows childhood love even after she abadons him for 20+ years

childhood love abandons guy that becomes a construction worker, for 20+ years because of parents disputes forgets about him join a secret organization marrys/divorce another guy then when everything goes to shit she comes-back after him for him to fix her shit show and save the organization.
the guy acts like a simp and constant forgive her / is saved by her, she of course is a short hair strong black woman that never loses and when she does is not her fault.

Enjoyable for Kids and Adults Alike

No woke. The father is a paranoid idiot but he has a redemption arc and finds himself so I wouldn't call it woke. The voice acting is pretty good and the animation is above average but not great. Story is nothing original but it is well done and some funny characters and moments. Overall I enjoyed it and think it's a worthwhile animated movie.

Interesting concept

The premise is that humuncoli are in charge of everyone's emotions. Each person has five humuncoli, one for each of five emotions: Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust. They forgot they most important emotion: love.

It is an interesting concept, but not original. The execution flounders in the middle, becoming a bit boring. There are maybe 4 good laughs, with the best one in the end credits (the cat). I struggle whether to give it a 3 or 4, so I will go with 4 since there is no woke.

More Zero Effort Writing

Didn't notice any woke. I'm giving this a 1 only because some of the gator FX where ok. The acting is mediocre and the FX are passable but the writing, my God the writing. This was made by people who have never experienced a hurricane and didn't bother doing any research whatsoever. At the start it is stated a Category 5 is making landfall and a tv clearly shows it's right of the coast of Florida and most of the state is
covered by rain bands already. Keep in mind a Cat 5 is a MINIMUM of 157mph sustained winds. Not counting wind gusts that can be much higher. We are talking downed power lines and trees everywhere. Major home damage and completely leveled buildings. Flying large debris everywhere. Nothing depicted in this is even close to what a cat 5 looks like. The college isn't on lockdown and students are just going about there day. Not likely. Evacuations are still happening with roads full of cars. Again not likely all evacuations would be done by this point. Police are stationed at a blockade and later in the middle of the movie show up at the house in a boat. Nope, once that storm is coming in all emergency services are halted and you are on your own
until it is safe for them to start operations. Huge inconsistency with wind, some scenes the trees are really blowing and others there is no
movement at all. Character is standing outside at one point with her hair completely still. Character is out just casually driving around and looters
are out in boats, in the middle of a cat 5 hurricane. Sure. No storm shutters or boards are put up on any windows and nothing is put away from people yards, everything is just left out to fly around like a missile. This is standard procedure for anyone in FL when a hurricane is coming. Why is she crawling around in the mud under the house when the camera clearly shows there is standing room or at standing hunched over. Character actually out swims alligators even when they have the trajectory advantage over her. You must be kidding. A helicopter rooftop rescue in the middle of a Cat 5 landfall. I mean are they
even trying. This should of been an entertaining creature movie but they just couldn't be bothered with a little research and accuracy.

It's a sequel

And as such, it fails to capture the quirkiness and poetry of the first installment.
It's by no means a bad movie, just not very good.

Regarding the main preoccupation on this site: one can clearly see the mount points for wokeness that were hastily disarmed.
There is no lesbian arc as such, but the possibility is very real, and the politically-oriented (intellectually challenged) fanfic writers will probably attempt a righteous rally on the hill Disney chose not to die on.

That is actually my feeling after watching this movie: Disney has capitulated. It cannot afford to finance --the message-- anymore, and one can almost see the contours of the empty spaces left by the hasty removal of boss girl, butch girl, quota-hire girl, and stupid white male.

It is a sad state of affairs for Disney when almost-apolitical mediocrity is a huge improvement.
I wish them a death mostly free of pain. Also, quick if possible, but that I wish for my own benefit.

Started good but ended up falling off

after episode 5 it becomes a mexican soap opera.

the show should have 5 or 6 episodes in my opinion, deus ex machina incidents where used to make the protagonist weaker (making him equivalent of a simp just like the villain was since the beginning) the villain stronger and the main heroine nonsensical, feels like stuff was added just to prolong the show and give the heroine control of the situation, feels kinda forced netflix is probably the responsible.

another promising show that netflix ruined.

Funny Fictional Parody

Didn't see anything woke. I may be in the minority here but I thought it was very funny. It's a silly fictional parody and not meant to be a true
to life biopic. The acting is good and there are a ton of easter eggs throughout as well as lots of cameos. It's light stupid fun in a rapid
fire humor sort of way. Some of the jokes don't land but many do and personally I thought it was a lot of fun. Whether or not you like Jerry Seinfeld will probably make a big difference in if you will like this or not.

Poor imitation of original Alien with teenage DEI cast and woke propaganda

The woke propaganda seems to be becoming more skillful. It now evades detection by some well-known anti-woke critics. This movie exemplifies how many propaganda elements have become more subtle compared to the typically clumsy efforts of recent years.

[Spoilers below]

– DEI cast: Two leads: one is (body-positive?) female, the other is intellectually-challenged black. (Intersectionality checkboxes: female, black, disabled, and possibly body positive).

– DEI cast: 3 females, one of whom is potentially a non-heterosexual Asian with nearly shaven head, and the other one… Latino (?). A black android who is initially mentally limited who then becomes the most intelligent character. (Additional intersectionality checkboxes: gender (subtle), possibly latino)

– Mary Sue lead with no depth of character, reminiscent of the girl-boss of Disney StarWars (with only a faint imitation of Sigourney Weaver’s depth of character and gravitas).

– White guys are either evil or weak (and insufferable)

– Posthumous subversion of Ian Holm—one of the most beloved characters (i.e., Bilbo in the ‘racist’ Lord of the Rings) has been digitally cast as an (old) evil white male. Very likely intended as raising the woke flag, symbolizing even death cannot prevent them from conquering an iconic character/actor/symbol/perceived enemy.

– A clumsy propaganda scene features a digital Ian Holm saying something along the lines of “The colonies were established through your labor; now we ‘humbly’ seek your assistance”—a reference to colonialism followed by some sort of apologetic plea.

– Magical black guy trope (e.g., see the 2024 movie “The American Society of Magical Negroes”) and a character arc based on overcoming it: The black android’s ‘prime directive’ is to make the Mary Sue happy. Then this evolved into competing the mission/serving the company, and finally, into doing ‘what is good for us’.

– The black android becomes the strongest and smartest character due to changing his previously limiting and oppressive slave mindset (i.e., his chip).

– Subliminal messaging: Many shots of the black android from below after he transcends his slavery to the Mary Sue. E.g., he is on high ground and looks down on the white male and female.

– Subliminal messaging: White guy kneels in front of the black android; it’s contrived—that is, this trope is plugged in without naturally blending into the story (also see, eg., Mandalorian); kneeling in that situation can hardly be justified, if at all.

On the other hand, the character arc of the black android is notable. Initially, he is a slave to Mary Sue, then to the corporation, and eventually, he begins to consider his own self-interest. Changing the chip in his head serves as a strong metaphor for altering a submissive mindset, leading to a more confident, successful, and respected individual. However, true freedom requires also shedding this overly logical mindset and reaching a compromise between compassion/altruism/submission and self-interest. If this was incorporated without the propaganda elements shoved down the throats of the audience, it would have been a good, memorable character arc and a much stronger role model.

And regardless of the propaganda elements, it is a bad movie that is merely a poor, soulless imitation of the Scott/Weaver’s Alien that feels like a teenage horror flick. This is also due to the ages of characters; there doesn’t seem to be a single adult in the movie except for the CGI-resurrected Ian Holm.

Simp-fi

Most male characters are simps and the women are girlbosses, one of them a scummy violent one.

The wokeness in this show is the more indisious kind which doesn't lecture you overtly but instead manipulates viewers by presenting a model of behaviour that is despicable and civilisation-destroying, which is fundamentally what wokeness is.
