More Woke Netflix Garbage
A LOT of DEI especially for the time period and location. Black stepmother making the mixed race couple possible. DEI stepmother
is the only one who is noble and good, all the white people are bad. Basset who can actually act is just terrible here. So out of place
and bad attempt at accent. There is of course the usual feminist drivel. Armored trained knights have tried to kill the dragon but
all failed yet this lone girl who struggles to drag a small tree branch at the beginning of the film just magically and suddenly turns into
Rambo and defeats the dragon using only the power of the vag. Millie Brown is a mediocre actor at best who is constantly shoved down
audience throats by hollywood and you get all that mediocrity on display here. The CG is all over the place. Some scenes look pretty good
while others look terrible. The poor writing once again is the real downfall here. There is some modern out of place terminology used.
She gets thrown down a tall shaft and lands on rock yet the only injury she suffers is a scratch on the cheek. She's told by the dragon the
quiet ones live longer than proceeds to immediately wonder around the cave screaming and making as much noise as possible. She chops her hair off with a knife and the results are a perfect modern bob cut. The cave contains conveniently place items of use for her to stumble onto.
Dragon has so many opportunities to kill her and just doesn't for no reason. She should of died many times over. Armor plated men enter the cave and the dragon kills them all instantly yet she continues to live.

What in the absolute holy hell?
Does EVERYONE in EVERY movie, TV Series and all other media have to be gay? I said to my wife, "I'll give it a shot", even though I hardly ever try and watch this garbage due to the eventual, not-so-subtle, agenda. Turns out the main character is some kind of non-binary gay. I didn't stick around long enough the see if he's called "they" or "it" or "dipshit".

Perfect summer popcorn flick!
I was very impressed with how good this was and how overall family friendly this ended up being. For a PG-13 movie to only have a handful of cuss words and not even a kissing scene I was pleasantly surprised. I think Hollywood may be waking up from the Woke fest nonsense they have been trying to cram down our throats the last few years. This movie is a testament that if you make a good clean entertaining movie with no climate change preaching or all girl power junk, the people will go and pay the money to see it in the theaters.

Real sci-fi. Not a bad watch.
Special effects? Not really. As a matter of fact, the radiation suit being worn by the protagonist, Abby, has a gap below the helmet. You can clearly see her bare chin a couple times while she's outside in the dangerous radiation. There are some scenes where you can see the camera equipment. The production team may not be on the A-list.
The acting is very good. The story isn't bad.
Woke elements?
Early in the movie, there was a forced encounter with misogyny. It was unnecessary but, it's there.
There's kind of a futuristic Erin Brockovich or Love Canal theme. There are some real concerns for this kind of thing. It does happen. I think the reason we have a problem with it is because the woke crowd brings up the legitimate situations to benefit their agenda. An example would be stopping a petroleum pipeline over environmental concerns. The result being petroleum transport by highway and rail instead. It's more expensive, more harmful to the environment and has much more risk of disaster but it makes a lot of money for the railroad owner who stirred up the environmentalists against the pipeline. The theme in the movie forced a legitimate concern.

Saving Private Muad'Dib
Set in the end days of the Wild West, "Hostiles" asks the question, "are we the baddies?" It's woke, but good, and hence dangerous.
In one scene, a SJW type older woman, just as annoying as a Redditor, explains how Indians were being mistreated, which was true and yet she is speaking from naivete. The Natives themselves are not one dimensional or homogeneous, with the Cheyenne chief warning that the Comanches are cray-cray animals. Had they met, the SJW woman would no doubt have accused him of being racist, insisting we must welcome the Comanches into our communities with open arms.
Another woke aspect is that there is a black corporal in the otherwise white calvary detachment. The year was 1892, and this never happened, not even a black private. At this time, the US army maintained strict segregation, except that black units had mostly white officers. It was not until 1898, six years after the setting of the film, that the US army allowed some black soldiers into regular units, out of desperation for manpower during the Spanish-American War. The film would have escaped with a 1/5 woke rating, but when it comes to 1984 style rewriting of history, THE LINE IS DRAWN HERE! 5 woke points, and I hope the excellent director rots in hell!
Since we're the baddies and so are the Comanches, it's a little bit rough to watch. But still, it's pretty good. Just don't let the director brainwash you into believing a false history.

Another Low Budget Childish Godzilla Entry
I didn't notice any woke. Godzilla continues it's decline in quality. Another entry with a child as the main character. Nonsense childish
story and mediocre acting. An obvious lack of budget causes them to reuse monster scenes from previous movies. The new scenes don't look very good. This is another one it's safe to pass on. Maybe ok for kids only.

Saw that lesbian affair from the beginning
Yeah. Well, it's kind of a slow burn and I think if you want to watch The Exorcist, just grab the original since this kind of follows the same plot. Unfortunately, his daughter gets kicked out of college for political protests likely regarding the banning of books or not letting men into the ladies' shower room. She has a black friend. They have an affair all while Russell Crowe's head twists around. Of course, they have a lesbian affair. Naturally. Holy hell. And we'd be tarred and feathered to say these two, hot young girls making out is sexy. That's not it, troglodyte. Inclusion! Acceptance!

Godzilla The Environmentalist
So this is basically just environmentalist propaganda and while not really woke in the traditional sense it is kind of woke in it's own way hence the 1 woke score. The acting is not great with much of the film focusing on an annoying child with bad acting. The story is just garbage. Pollution and sewage dumped in the ocean has created a giant turd monster. Literally. It's nonstop preaching about pollution and the environment. Long lingering shots of sewage runoff and floating debris that last forever. Strange out of place musical numbers. Random animated sequences. The Hedorah costume looks terrible, the fight scenes are laughable. Long scenes of the two monsters staring at
each other waving their arms in what looks like sign language?. This is even worse than All Monsters Attack.

I Enjoyed It But I'm Not Really Sure Why
2 Lesbian characters. A comment about 'toxic masculinity'. Not overly woke or preachy. This is another film that is not for everyone. The acting is pretty bad. It's basically an 80's slasher with most of it from the point of view of the killer. This results in long shots over the should of walking slowly through the woods or standing and watching people. This is not action packed, but than again
most slashers from the 80's were fairly slow by todays standards. I also think the decision to shoot in fullscreen instead of widescreen
hurts the film. It makes it seem cheaper and more amateur than it already does. The victims are extremely unlikable and that doesn't help either. The gore and FX are very well done with practical instead of CG and works wonderfully. There isn't much scary though since you always know where the killer is and the other characters are so unlikable you really don't care about them. My 4 star rating is probably a little generous but I enjoyed it for what it was and will see the inevitable sequel.
