Pavel Hristov's Reviews
Not woke but an extremely boring sequel that adds nothing new
If you have watched the first Avatar and didn't like it, you most definitely won't like this one either. If you liked the original, this is the same movie but with whales.
The movie is about humans killing nature and specifically whales, those animals being this film's gimmick. That's about the whole summary of the movie yet it continues for over 2 hours and half of it is boring scenes like children playing in water, children playing on the beach, their parents arguing on the beach, jezus christ that was a mind-numbingly boring picture.
They brought back the tough evil commander from the first film so Jake can kill the tough evil commander a 2nd time and that was the end goal of the movie. This is similar to how Star Wars directors blow up another Death Star whenever their creativity reaches 0 which is pretty often but rethreading the exact same plot of the first film, but with whales, is a rock new bottom for Hollywood.
The only redeeming qualities of this picture are the importance of family and there was a minor, extraordinarily tiny character development in the commander's son who starts to care slightly for his father by the end. No other character had development and they ended up the same as when they started which along with the plot repeating the first movie makes this an extremely dull experience. If this plays on TV while you cook or clean and you throw a look or two from time to time, this may make it palatable but being stuck in a cinema for 2.5/3 hours or getting this on home video and watching whales and mediocre Rambo sequences with blue aliens for characters which are as one-dimensional as when they started is a sure way to numb your brain.

This website really needs a cleaner, the film is decent
So first off, to whoever owns this website, please clean the spam, there are now as many actual reviews as spam, if this site is to survive.
The film is okay, I really liked the relationship between Snow and Plinth, up until the very end. The romance between Snow and Lucy Grey was questionable? They never felt like a couple even though we are told/shown they like each other but 5 minutes after they meet up they wanna kiss and then they get together for some reason only having met a couple times and 5 minutes later they separate? Like what the heck. Overall the relationships in this movie were questionable, first characters like each other, then they hate each other in the next scene, it was quite poor to be honest, apart as I said Snow and Plinth's relationship up till the end which was really well done and well acted.
I also like that the film doesn't end on a cliffhanger, they could have split the movie in two but thankfully they didn't, the story is told through and through.
What I didn't like was mild wokeness, occasional profanities and the singing of Rachel Zeglar which really pulls you out of the movie. Imagine watching an action movie that spontaneously becomes a musical from time to time, again, what the heck? Zegler has good voice, if she's the one actually singing, it's just two genres of film which should not mix together, even if there's in-movie logic they do. They also have a retarded character who somehow survives up until the end, obviously they couldn't kill her early or the wo(o)kies would cry foul but that was stupid. Also Rachel Zeglar manages to pull a 200kg beam in one of the scenes, they had to think something better if they wanted to solidify their relationship rather than this stupidity. But worst of all, the show is about the protagonist - Coriolanus Snow who flip flops between being a good and bad character all the time. In one scene he kills his friend, in the next he weeps for him and in the scene right after he's back to his friend being means to an end. I understand the director of the film wanted to make him multi-dimensional but he/she failed. We have 2 characters in 1 body and it's completely random which character the producers will use in the next scene and the protagonist comes out feeling disjointed.
Overall, aside from mild wokeness, the film is interesting and the main actor is quite decent at his job, so is the actor playing Plinth and even Rachel Zeglar puts out a good performance. If they improved the protagonist, this movie could have been a 5/5. Unfortunately for the producers, we were 4 people in an IMAX, very young people (14-25) have not shown up for it which are the main audience and it was only people who also watched the originals who came and we're not that many (26-35) so this film will likely flop.

One of the best TV shows in the later seasons
There is mild woke as all Star Trek series have focused on casting every variety of human they can think of as the leads just because. Also they made a few characters bi/lesbian. It's annoying but the majority of relationships are between normal people so there's that.
But that is all the woke you can think of, everything else is human stories and thought provoking situations plus a fair bit of drama in the later seasons. Once you get the diversity hiring out of the way, the show and the characters they portray and their growth are simply unprecedented. It really feels like you're on a journey with them and the later seasons are just perfect. Individual episodes like The Visitor are also probably the best storytelling in TV history. It's also between black characters where the focus isn't that they're black but they're human, not vice versa which is what the current woke Left believes.
I suggest skipping Season 1 and 2 until you watch all other seasons first and then returning to it. I had great time with the show and it's my go to recommendation to all people interested in scifi and well done non-soapy drama. Only docking a point because the show takes a while to get it's footing right and it's mildly woke.

Skip Season 1 to enjoy probably the best British comedy in Seasons 1 through 4
This is a funny show and a funny show in the way where whilst most series decline in quality over time, this one improves. I'll be honest and say I couldn't stomach Season 1 but Seasons 2 to 4 are so much fun. The jokes are on point, the chemistry between the actors is great and it's evergreen as it doesn't use contemporary humor so you can watch it in 5-10-20 years and still laugh. There is also no woke agenda as it's an old series but considering the shite that comes out of BBC now, you wouldn't believe it's the same studio that created it and say current Doctor Who.

The best drama I've watched
This is genuinely one of the best TV series which I've had the pleasure to watch. Every episode is different, the characters are interesting and Hugh Laurie carries the whole series with great humor. It's basically Sherlock Holmes in a doctor's gown in the 21st century, it's awesome.
There is minor woke with one of the side characters where they make her a bisexual and you have some episodes forcing us to watch her and her gf and their relationship. It's short and obnoxious but out of 8 seasons, having a few episodes with woke is bearable. There is no gay stuff other than it and no victim politics, intersectionalism, patriarchy, women have it oh so bad or other crap the modern Left loves.

One of the best animations that can be enjoyed by adults too
I watched it when it aired about a decade if not more ago and had a blast. Recently rewatched it and it's even better with quite controversial themes like death of main characters that fly over the head of children but can be picked up by adults which really improves the quality.
There is a woke comment by one of the two creators where Velma was a lesbian, she just didn't show it which was during the BLM protests I think but that's just virtue signalling, there is no gay or other woke shit in the show. I don't want to spoil the series but neither of the girls the creator mentions are lesbians in the show, it's pure virtue signalling to appeal to his fellow woke colleagues in the entertainment industry so enjoy it.

Woke free for the majority of time and one of the best shows if it ended sooner
It has a good hook in E1 to get you to watch the rest of the series and the pacing is for the most part good. The first 6 seasons along with the banger of a soundtrack make it one of the best TV shows in memory.
It however drastically goes downhill in S7 and especially S8 which is sleep-inducing with the worst possible ending that makes 0 sense for the world and the events that took place the first 6 seasons which drags down the whole series. If it ended in S6 and HBO just said we ran out of material, that'd have been a decent ending but alas.
Wokeness - there is some gay stuff but it's also looked down upon in the world as was the case in Medival Ages so that's accurate and not too much of it. The ending has so much soy and the female Starks get such a good deal out of it that it makes the ending contrast too much with the world and how people operate in it. That is mostly just really bad writing with minor woke but it's mostly just the creators didn't know what to do with the ending. It was also made at the beginning of the woke era so it's safe for viewing and enjoy it if you give it a chance.

Not woke and decent but not amazing Sci Fi
It's an interesting show based on the works by Gene Roddenberry. It includes some drama so you generally have to watch it in succession from S1 to the end unlike Star Trek. The Sci fi is not as imaginative as Star Trek or Far Scape but I like the crew and the stories. Unfortunately the creators slowly deify the main character Dylan at the expense of the rest of the crew which I like just as much and it doesn't do any benefit to the show. I liked the first 3 seasons so give it a try.
As for wokeness, there is none, there is actually an anti-woke character later in the series who's black and mainly looks out for himself. I do miss dramas/tv shows that focused on stories and not virtue signalling and this is one of the last Sci Fis before the woke era.

The beginning of the end for quality BBC television
I watched 2 seasons as the pacing wasn't great and it had its ups and downs. I liked the setting of Medival England and the chemistry between the main two characters - Merlin and Arthur. The overall cast also did a good job, the acting was solid and the sets were also good.
What I didn't like was they raceswapped Guinivere and her father. They are now the only 2 black people in Medival England and no one in the village makes a comment. If you want to see cultural shock, look up white tourists going to small African villages and the children being shocked and not knowing how to react. Now imagine that in the Middle Ages, this decision was created purely for the liberal cretins who like this and think it's somehow making the world better, they nor anyway else knows how but trust them bro. There were also the beginnings of woke ideology in entertainment with feminism but those were minor. Of course feminists having won equal rights and everyone being happy for decades, suddenly think that women have it bad in the 21st century for unknown reasons. If you ignore the minor woke and the raceswapping, give it a try, it's not a bad show for the first few seasons.

Woke and fun free
I didn't notice anything woke in the first few episodes but also the jokes are extremely poor? It's supposed to be situational humor without a laugh track but there wasn't anything funny. I lasted a few episodes in S1 and gave up. This is modern 'Simpsons' levels of funny, if that's your cup of tea, go for it, otherwise, skip.
