Woke
They can’t have ISIS be the terrorist, no that would be racist. So let’s have the white republicans cut the head off a Muslim kid.
I even hate English “Hollywood”

A Little bit of 80's Goonie-ness
I guess we could make the argument that Elevator Game doesn't consist completely of Gen-Z White men looking for a monster in an elevator, but to be honest, the film sticks to a 1985-kind-of Goonies cast that works well together and the plot at least keeps our attention. Elevator Game even throws a few jabs in on the younger generation, which is cool: live at home with your parents, don't want to "adult" and so on. Gotta love that. The scares are few and far between, but like I say, it's worth a watch.

Good lord. And I forgot to leave a review on this garbage?
Yeah. It's so hard to watch. Men suck and Ryan Gosling is here for a paycheck. Who knows? Maybe he hates men too. I don't know Ryan. I'd take the part of an emasculated, castrated man for a few million. Whatever. This film is a "Marxist Lesbian" dream. Ugh.

Agree with other reviewers: Super Unnecessary Sequel with DEI
This from a reviewer who sat through way too many locusts in The Heretic. We just do not need another Exorcist sequel, but a sequel loaded with in-your-face DEI casting and for what? The only thing I disagree here with on WokeRNot is that it needs a 2/5 wokeness for the DEI.

Good "remake" with a great cast.
I didn't expect this to be a remake of the movie "Alive". I mean, remember all the controversy surrounding the cannibalism? Actually, I don't think there was. Maybe a little buzz.
I think Society of the Snow does a better job than Alive from an authentic perspective and it tells the story better, but in the end I was like, "must we go over this eating people thing again?".
I will say that casting dudes from Uruguay and other non-Ethan Hawk lands was a great decision. Not a bad film. Check it out.

Waited 23 years for a disappointing rehash
LOVE the first movie, but this didn't do it for me. No woke elements to cry fowl (haha) about, and the stop-motion is well-done, but the story feels like the same stuff the first movie did. Kids will love it though.

No Woke But Very Odd
No woke here. This is not a very good movie though. The acting if fine but the story is not well thought out. There is almost no dialog in this. The idea is a revenge film after the father's son is killed in a drive by and he is shot in the throat losing his voice. The problem though is nobody has any dialog. It makes sense for the father but everyone else just stands around not talking for no reason. It's just silly and awkward. If you wanted to do a silent film then maybe make him deaf as well. This should have been a high energy mostly action film to make the lack of dialog make more sense but other than the opening scene there is no action until an hour in. Up to that point it's more of a drama and it really makes the silent characters everywhere seem very odd. The action when there is any is kind of dull and unimpressive. Surprising for a John Woo film but it never really feels like one of his movies. It's not horrible but don't expect a John Woo action film because your not getting it.

Good war story ruined with wokeness
Excess focus on homosexuality throughout film. Ruins what would otherwise be a good war story.

Good Representation of the Mansion..
..but a horrible story. Even with better acting, this plot was doomed. I liked Eddie Murphy’s better, if only slightly. Missing Jennifer Tilly as Leota as well. This is a missable flick. Not because it’s woke, only because it’s terrible. I only recommend this if you want to see a nice Mansion. Don’t invest the entire 2+ hours though.

Dull, Boring, And In Its Own Way Woke
As others have stated the only actual woke in the film is some female racers when there were none. However, the premise of the film is that this kid is some sort of racing genius and the game makers came up with the idea of the academy and sent out select invitations to a very few and this kid won and was the first ever gamer to become a real racer. None of that is true. Everyone knew about the academy and anyone could enter and try to win a spot. Jann wasn't even the first one to win, or the second, but the third. The first and second were both very white looking males. One from Spain and one From France. In fact Lucas Ordóñez who was the first one to do it placed 2nd at Le Mans. He did it first and placed higher. Plus Jann's career as a pro is unimpressive and mediocre at best. It's not like he went on to be some incredible racer. So while the contents of the film itself aren't woke the fact that the movie was made the way it was with Jann instead of the actual first person to do it is absolutely woke! The film itself is rather poor. The acting is generally not great with the actor playing Jann and his friends in particular being pretty bad. The dialogue is not good the race scenes are boring and the writing in general is just poor. There is no flow or natural progression to anything, it all just happens. The way some of the things are portrayed are so unbelievable they just can't possibly be accurate. If you really like Gran Turismo or just like racing you may enjoy it. Personally I was bored the entire bloated 2 plus hours runtime.

Ok film, not really woke
I enjoyed the premise/concept. An attempted colonization of an alien world goes awry for early settlers because men's thoughts are able to be seen/heard to everyone around them. Which does not affect the women.
It's an interesting dynamic to see played out in the sci fi genre. What can happen when extremism takes over and goes too far. I thought that Daisy and Tom gave good performances in this.. I wish they had developed the whole alien relationship more? There is this species on the planet with the settlers that is blamed for a genocide, but then they are not really mentioned or interacted much with beyond a single encounter.
Aside from some potential feminist undertones, I could not really detect any hints of wokeness in this film. Daisy's character comes out as the typical over qualified female character who "don't need no man" to rescue her and bring her through the challenges they encounter.

Stunning Rollercoaster Ride
Phoenix did not appear topless in the “volleyball” scene. Equality? I think not. ;o)
Solid movie all around. I’m sorry I waited this long to see it. Zero woke. Fun callbacks to the original. Decent story. Worth wasting your 2 hours and 5 minutes of life.
