Not Woke
Whatever problems some may have with the direction this show took; wokeness is not a problem. What it does have is a diverse cast and interesting characters with a lot of chemistry .

The most woke show on tv
It started out woke but heavy over representation of gays, women and minorities more and more every season. In fact, I'd say that straight white people are heavily marginalized . Preaching, moralizing and righteous indignation rule this show even if the ones doing all the ranting are the ones with all the control. There's no entertainment value anymore unless you enjoy constant condescension.
You are a lesser being.

Over represented
While I was pleased that the mood conveyed the same sense of camaraderie
as the original series I was a little taken back by the over representation of females and minorities. Especially women.
I'm a woman that enjoys seeing women represented as powerful and multi faceted but where did they get the idea that women don't like to see men too. ?Especially white men.
The only white men in the entire reg ensemble cast are Pike and Spock . The bridge is entirely made up of females and a trans ..as most positions of power I see...It's wierd that they think that the only way to elevate one group is to devalue another.
How about devaluing no one.

...And she leaves the woke behind. For the most part. No elements other than some interpretations that could be made if you overanalyze. Token black character, although very minor with few lines.

Gamers would appreciate this. Non-gamers would miss a lot
The wokeness is from a singular element. That is, the princess who needed rescuing in the video games has become the wise, strong one who led the weaker male characters to victory. If I'm not mistaken, the character of the princess originated in the video game, Donkey Kong. She was always the rescued one as the games progressed through generations.
That said, I would've missed a lot of what was going on if I didn't have my daughter and son-in-law watching it with me. They explained the nuances that carried over from the games. My grandsons enjoyed it thoroughly (ages 3 & 5). I won't be watching it twice but I didn't mind watching it with the family.

Hardcore, graphic, homosexual scenes
The show was really enjoyable at first. The homosexual character started becoming more present in the story line until it featured scenes as graphic as allowable without being marketed as porn. Maybe a little beyond.
That said, season one wasn't a bad story at all. In season 2, the eldest went from being the cool-headed wisdom of the group to being an insecure, conniving backstabber. Meanwhile, the homosexual brother became depicted as the stable, honest one who wanted to go legit. In short, WOKE.

Good until series 7
Good until series 7. Not sure why everyone here is saying Season 3. Also it's not very woke.
Starts getting a little Woke at that point and becomes boring and repetitive.

This show is badly written, boring and woke. I kept expecting it to get better but it just gets worse and worse.

Wow, so bad
Not sure who greenlit this but it's f terrible. Full of woke BS and dull af. Not sure why they'd ruin the brand by making something this bad. The group is full of unlikeable woke weirdos. Unwatchable.

Original Aussie Movie is great. Much better than the woke US series.

Ruined by Woke
Should be a good show about surfer bank robbers pulling off heists, but got ruined by alphabet. Has more gay sex than straight and it's very graphic. The first couple of episodes are pretty good then it falls off a cliff. Don't watch it.
