Woke Diversity For The Stupid Generation
Girl bosses, social justice messaging and diversity. For a country with a 3 percent black population they must all be working on this show. This is written so poorly it can only be for the current stupid generation. Anyone with half a brain will see common sense and accuracy mistakes everywhere. This might as well be a comedy it's so badly written.

Surprisingly not woke for Disney
A token black and brown character, but that was it.

Not Woke-An Excellent Movie
It's set in the 1937s so the history of that period becomes relevant. There are elements like Socialist/Marxism discussed and quickly dismissed as dangerous.
Very entertaining.
I was ready to start typing away to document Woke elements but none here.

Medium Woke but still entertaining
The Asian girl (Joy Yoshino) is automatically stereotyped. Everything is racialized these days. She is teased that she only eats rice. Really?
The Asian girl (Joy Yoshino) wants to come back from the dead and haunt Ted Cruz. She hates Republicans? Most people on the left hate anything to the right of socialists. Why bring politics into this discussion unless you as the director want to do a hit job? Oddly it has no relevance to the conversation. These days even a liberal can’t get a word in. Ironic.
Here goes another stereotype. The Asian girl (Joy Yoshino) instantly appears to write code on his computer and magickly the answer appears. Really?
I liked the two boys. Good typical high school interaction. The family overall gelled well. They are a black family but it didn’t matter either way and was transparent to the story.
The gay ghost reference was interesting. I would guestimate that there is no sexuality of any kind on the other side.
Save Ernest from Capitalism? Again, a reference to politics with absolutely no relevance to the storyline. How about explaining the director’s goal of saving the USA from success and freedom.
Of course, CNN gets a plug in the movie. This only happened because the director or Netflix chose it this way. No one watches CNN anymore!
The Asian girl (Joy Yoshino) runs into the boy’s bathroom and criticizes a football player for his “gender norms”. Completely unnecessary to the story line.
I am utterly amazed the director put and outright home invasion of a black family’s house in the movie.
I did drop Netflix for the woke spin on their content. They are not the worst like Disney is but the corrosion is expanding.

Not Woke - Amazing Story-Telling
The new Super Mario Bros. Movie is spot on in plethora of ways.
Firstly, the story-telling in the movie is absolutely great. They take the "Mario" universe and put a great spin on the Bowser versus Mario conflict while introducing real-world elements and 'Mario-verse' elements seamlessly. No spoilers, but if you're a fan of the Mario games, you will love this.
Secondly, zero woke elements. There's a mixture of inclusion, togetherness and morality but none of it is forced into the story for the sake of making a point. To me, that is the primary indicator of "woke" elements. The sheer fact it doesn't berate you for not accepting forced ideology is outstanding given it's release in 2023.
Lastly, the visual effects as well as the audio are next level good. Everything is crisp, well animated and well above par for a professional development studio. The direction of the movie is fluid, it is broken down into traditional "acts" so following the story is seamless but not boring.
6/5 Stars. The extra star is for the Star-Power you'll receive after enjoying this film. Definitely a Must-See.

Absolutely Woke (Season 1 Episode 1 - 5)
For those interested and utilizing this site, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is indeed very, if not unnervingly woke. It had some elements I quite agreed with politically and personally but more so with those I did not. The DEI drive within the show is painfully blatant and though I did LOVE the characters; It was too much, dare I say, far too much.
The television show itself does accel in story-telling but it does suffer a bit to forcefully interjected 'woke' ideologies. Combatted by the fact they are a whopping 50+ minutes long, it takes away from the story-telling and immersion fairly significantly in some situations.
The visual effects are outstanding. Completely and utterly outstanding. The same goes for the audioFX.
Overall, I had to stop watching the show by episode six of the first season due to it's blatantly woke-leaning politically motivated nature. Though elements were introduced in episodes 1-5 pretty heavily, I try to keep an open mind enough to understand that everyone has an opinion. By episode five though, there were basically eluding to the fact that if you aren't 'like' them, you're either stupid, a bad person or a mixture of both.
I watch television to be entertained, not to be dismissed, looked down upon or flat told that "I'm" wrong. This is a very hard pass for me.

Nic Cage does not speak a single word...
...hilarious. Watched for free on Redbox. No woke elements other than diverse cast and interracial couple. Low budget Syfy made for tv movie.

Long Bloated Boring Woke Mess
Lots of social justice messaging throughout. All the bad characters are rich white men. Corrupt white male mayor killed and replaced with virtuous good black female mayor. Main villain only kills white rich male characters because their rich and he's poor. We are even told at one point he's not really that bad because he kills rich white privilege characters that are in power. Thomas Wayne was now running for mayor and tied in with the mob? Rich white male I guess. Mobster owns everyone in power and has run the city behind the scenes for 20 years but forgot to buy the news media because of course they are always truthful and to be trusted and can't be corrupted.
The dark gothic atmosphere is almost perfect for a Batman movie. Almost perfect because it's too dark, so dark its hard to see what's going on in some scenes. The acting is good by everyone except Pattinson who is just an awful actor. He has no facial expressions and no range whatsoever. It's just angsty emo blank stare in every movie and he keeps getting hired somehow. The dialogue is all spoken very slowly and in low whispers and scenes just drag on for no reason. This could have easily been a 2hr movie. This is the DC Batman universe in name only. None of these characters resembles their original form in any way. Penguin is barely used and is just another thug. I don't know what the hell that laughable gimp suit villain was bit it was not the Riddler. Alfred is hardly there and that is NOT Batman. Where is the expertly trained martial arts fighter? This batman is just a street brawler. The great detective? Nope. He just bumbles around stumbling on clues or having other characters figure it out for him. Bruce Wayne only shows up a few times to look angsty and brood otherwise no character development there.

The Woke Left Hates This Film!
...Because it's about them. You see kangaroo courts, and basically a Soviet-style takeover while Batman is in the pit. Which makes his climb out of the pit so satisfying.

Mild Woke, But A Must See Movie
The mild wokeness is because ironically the villain in this film is the business. They mention how money is the god, and the part-timer eventually quits the job in order to spread the truth.
But over the years, the anti-capitalists have proved to be the actual problem (along work the woke capitalists like Starbucks). And they're dead on with their assessment about the media.

Mild Wokeness
I think the only real objection I had was that it seemed to have a token Middle-Eastern as a prince, and there was so female empowerment crap. Mostly okay tho.

I didn't find this woke free
For one thing, it seemed to be narrated by a millennial using crappy art.
For another, I think they had a vague jab about climate change as a cause for the monsters. And then you've got a bunch of teens living in what is essentially a commune. I didn't get very far into it before something about it really rubbed me the wrong way.
