Useful, with light cringe
It's good to examine big pharma and criticise society's increasing dependency on drugs on a daily basis, and this documentary, while making plenty of excuses for it, does try to examine the negative side-effects of doing so.
It has a very strange color correction problem - everything is a pervasive pink hue. I wonder if it's by design, or the editor has some kind of problem where everything looks green to him?
Anyway.
The woke is subtle, but palatable.
It comes in the form of forced representation. Gays interviewed because "visibility," right? Of course a lecture on how black people are oppressed by the system. How women are the only people who can be doctors because, fuck white men, right?
There are even edits which prominently feature "Hillary for President" in background props.
That stuff is pretty hard to ignore, and once you notice it, it distracts from the messaging and makes the rest of the film suspect.
But if you can make it into a drinking game and some kind of "Guess who the director voted for!" bingo, it's informative somewhat.

Season 1 was fine, season 2 blew it;
The wokeness in this series is relatively subtle in season 1 and just gets worse as the series progresses. Season 2 cites false statistics and tries to be subtle when shooting down factual info but ends up failing miserably, making the political angle of Inside Job unnecessarily obvious and ruining the already terrible "comedy".
Any peery-eyed viewer will notice the attempts at subliminal messaging and begin to resent this utter pile of garbage people call a "show".

One of the greats
One of my favourite movies. Some great comic moments. I imagine some might disagree but not woke in my book.

Wokeness in the first minutes of the series
Guess not even Tim Burton can escape the wokeness disease. I just started the series, when characters get intruduced and one of the supporting ones is a black bald mermaid and states that she's royalty. Netflix copying the worst of disney and succesfully making it even worse. Not much of a surprise here.
I'll update my review if necessary once I had seen more.

Fatman Is Lean on Wokeness
Not enough people have seen this movie. I love traditional Christmas films, but if you want to add something unorthodox to the usual classics, I highly recommend Fatman (2020). It's a unique black comedy with fantastic turns by the always-great Walton Goggins and an on-his-game Mel Gibson as the titular Santa. It's a bit bloodier than Miracle on 34th Street, but it actually carries a good message and honors the Christmas spirit.
I consider myself very sensitive to wokeness, but nothing about this movie bothered me. Some may be annoyed by the fact that Mrs. Claus is played by a black actress with a British accent, citing forced race-swapping. Perhaps, but I really enjoyed her performance, and found the relationship between these Clauses to be very charming and "realistic." The only other thing worth mentioning is a scene which shows photos of some parents whose kids got gifts from Santa. We see a female firefighter whose daughter received a toy fire truck, and then a male chef whose son received a toy oven. A little eye-rolly maybe, but no major crime. Otherwise, just your run-of-the-mill, violent dark comedy starring "Chris" Kringle.

It was actually pretty good, no wokeness
I went into this movie not really expecting much, but was actually pleasantly surprised. It had a decent story of reconciliation, reconnection, and healing from family trauma framed around the Christmas holiday. It didn't come off half baked or hokey, and the film was well shot.
No wokeness detected that I could tell.

Woke free masterpiece
A poignant story about grief and loss, with charming characters and stunning scenes. I understand some people will not “get it” at first, but stay until the end, and you will have closure. Remember it’s about those left behind, not those who “left”. The finale stays with you for a long, long time.
Shoutout to Liv Tyler in the best role of her career, as devastatingly sad and angry Meg.

Running down that hill
Good to see some debate between reviewers but I’m in the ‘started well but woke AF by season 3’ camp.

Woke because it had to be.
I loved this movie so much! Sure there was a ton of woke, but it had to do that. The whole point of the black panther movies are to have a black superhero. If you dont mind the woke, great watch.

WOKE FREE MASTERPIECE!!!!
I went to see this movie with my family over thanksgiving and we all loved it! No woke at all, just murder, mystery, and Daniel Craig. A breath of fresh air for people like us.

Ok hear me out-
There are a couple woke elements, but it doesn't ruin the overall story like it has with disney. There is a gay character, the subtle twang of feminism, and the occasional "black people are oppressed". FANTASTIC show nonetheless.
