Not that woke

Not that woke, but it does contain some undertones. Not enough to tell people to avoid it, but just be aware. This is a pretty family friendly movie otherwise and is safe to see with your kids.

Even in 1995...

This has to be the earliest example of woke in Hollywood I can think of. The whole plot revolves around a black deadbeat drug addict (Hallie Berry) that throws her baby in the dumpster to get more crack when a garbage truck comes and nearly crushes her baby. Then the baby gets adopted by a loving family who happened to be white (the worst sin in this kind of movie), so naturally the mother takes them to court to try and get her son back and the movie tries to frame it as though Berry is entitled to have her son back due to her skin color. The whole movie is atrociously woke during a time where they were almost nonexistent.

Very woke, stay away!

This show was only made to check boxes for the pronoun alphabet army and shove "muh diversity" down our throats.

Decent

No wokeness and a decent plot but the acting and cgi was pretty weak. Not bad, but not good either.

A little long, but woke free

I've made it to the Cell saga and the show likes to drag on, I like the fights and the lore is interesting, but DBZ has way too much filler. Kai skips over the best of it so that's not an alternative either. It is woke free though.

Not woke

The story does not use character tokens and presents the main character as flawed but persistent. If it was made nowadays Moanna would have been written as an all powerful Mary Sue God character while The Rock would be a bumbling fool.

Brilliant

Great movie. Excellent script. Super performances. Lots of fun — which is an odd thing to say about a very gritty movie about Scottish heroin addicts. Doesn’t seem woke at all to me. Other reviewers suggested that it’s odd that the addicts aren’t black, to which I reply… Scotland.

Very weird that they made the characters white instead of black like in reality but very fun movie nonetheless.
