Awesome, highly recommended

I loved the first season, no woke bullshit, highly recommended. Good masculine characters.

Second season is also awesome so far 2 episodes in.

This is what we need more of.

More Of Godzilla the Environmentalist

Very heavy handed with the environmentalist propoganda. The acting is pretty bad and the film is full of cheesy attempts at humor. The opening
scenes is a blatent ripoff of Indiana Jones. The actor is terrible and seems to acidentally think hes supposed to be dollar store Rambo instead
of Jones. The monsters look pretty good and the action and special FX are actually decent for their time. If you can overlook the down your throat
preachy environmentalist crap it might be worth a watch.

Excellent show about excellent cops torn between good and evil.

I must admit some woke elements interfered at one point, but within the limits of what I can bear. But we all have our own limits...
Good show, enjoyed it. Could have deserved the second season which was cancelled.

Woke Safe. Is there a need to search for wokeness in an early 2000's movie anyway...

Woke safe. Some elements could bother some viewers (hense the 20%), but frankly, it's unsignificant. On the other hand, what a movie, what a piece of art, what an experience... So disturbing !

All woke boxes SHAMELESSely ticked !

This is what happens when a series runs for 12 seasons, crossing the border between the pre-woke world and the woke world... The first seasons are a pure delight! Irreverent, politically incorrect, even downright trashy! And that's what we wanted.
And then... something happened. Imperceptible at first, but then totally unbearable. The show became almost a caricature of itself. So sad...

Manicheism be damned !

I think this show, woke to a certain extent, is nonetheless worth a look. The direction is top-notch, the filming locations heavenly, the cast truly ideal.
Woke elements in a work are a problem when they predominate, when they obliterate the quality of a story or its purpose, but especially when they insinuate that everything is black or white, without the possibility of a contradictory discourse. That's what I liked about this show. Woke elements at certain points in the story are counterbalanced by others later on. The scapegoats of some situations may find themselves the victims of others. Worth a try.

As much as I abhor any form of wokism in the arts, I can't bring myself to totally reject certain works that are certainly somehow contaminated by it, but which are nonetheless excellent. This film is a bright example. The background is indeed woke, in the representation of the male as absolute evil, the reason for all the pain that can be inflicted on a woman. However, I'm not sure that this is the director's intrinsic intention (after all, the husband responsible for his wife's torment is a non-white!), so for once, I don't give a damn! If you like films that are as much films as they are strange experiences, watch it. The last 20 minutes are one of the most wtf moments I've ever seen. Superb photography and musical ambience too.

Woke safe (1999... Those were the days). Great movie, certainly underrated in the mafia / gangsters category.

Off-licence Street Fighter

This is more a Street Fighter movie than the official SF movie, also starring Van Damme.

Ensemble cast of fighters, all visually and stylistically very different, about as much plot as a porno (hello guys, I'm here to FIGHT), and of course, a tournament.

This movie also features a young Whitaker, fresh off Platoon and Good Morning, Vietnam. And then, yep, Bloodsport. Before moving on to Bird. Go figure.

Yeung is as fearsome as ever, and Van Damme sets a new world record for over-acting. Both in duration and intensity.

And yeah, the whole Frank Dux thing. As the closing credits remind us, he set the record for most KO in a single tournament: 56.

If one has to slog through (at least) 56 opponents, it's not a tournament, it's an RPG. Or DBZ. Or an RPG based on DBZ.
Seriously, with a standard direct elimination setup, that's >10^16 participants.
But hey, that's the 80s: unabashedly boasting, and flamboyantly moronic.

Watchable Despite the Wokeness

Some DEI overrepresentation in the background and supporting characters. This has the usual Disney Feminism. Even though it's called wandavision it is really the Wanda show with Vision being more of the secondary lead. This in itself is fine as Scarlet Witch is a great character and the story and writing is actually really good. However this ends being a very Female centered and lead movie all around. Female lead, female villain, most of the close secondary characters are female. Then we have the villain, a white male who leads a mostly white male S.W.O.R.D. militaristic company who want Vision for a weapon. This is offset by the trio of 'good' characters, an Asian male agent, a white female tech genius and a black female agent. Toward the end her military support is of course let be another female. The bad white male character just gets more and more over the top psychotically evil as the show goes on. Despite the agenda this is still a very watchable
show. The acting is great, the FX are for the most part top tier and as I said the writing and story are well thought out and come together great. If you can look past the woke I would say it definitely worth a watch for MCU fans.
