A good first season marred by a mediocre second

Season 1 is pretty good, visually pleasing, and does seem to stick to the books, despite some forced diversity on Neagley, but the actress carries it well, so, whatever. Goodwin does a smashing job as Finlay.

Season 2, well, has many issues, first amongst which is that it is somewhat tedious and boring.
The show-runners have made a concerted and quite possibly ill-advised effort to make room for female empowerment. The Hollywood sort, not anything relevant. This, at the expense of the main protagonist.
This in turn somewhat breaks the character, as I, at least, wonder how one can be successful in one's chosen career while being an indecisive, submissive bitch.

Ah well, another one bites the dust.

Season 1 Awesome, Season 2 Ruined

I loved season 1, good fights, strong masculine leaders. Don't remember much wokeness.

Season 2 starts similar but then from episode 2 the whole storyline is gay shit which ruins it. I've had enough of seeing that bullshit without the whole fucking show being based in the faggotry capital of sydney.

Forced DEI strikes yet again

Season 1 was very good, with the only problem being that, intolerable, crazy ass Autumn, who doesn't seem to shower or wear a bra, and seems to get away with whatever she wants because she's free spirited yet empowered of course. 3rd wave feminist BS.

Season 2, however, must have different producers because it's totally woke now. Sheriff Joy, who as a female, native American, lesbian and at the top of the DEI Victim Hierarchy, always with her big ass, that 4 years living among the tribe did nothing to shrink, is sticking out in every scene. She's become the terminator, who apparently knows, Judo, Jujitsu and is an ace shooter who can take on any man in hand to hand combat. Typical sex swapping with Joy playing the role of a man. They've rewritten the scene where Royal accidentally shot his father in a hunting accident to, now, where he shot him to protect Joy, a complete stranger and "Indian," who they were hunting because they'd heard she killed white men. They're not happy enough woking-up season 2. They're going back to get their dirty little woke paws on season 1 narratives now.

The native Americans are populated with many strong fearless females who the story likes to revolve around because apparently all the men were born without tongues or brains. Yet they are poor victims while the writers try again and again to portray white frontiersmen as heartless and cruel. It's still OK to bash white men who aren't even on the list of the DEI Victim Hierarchy.

And when Joy stumbles back in time, guess who she runs into? She just happens to meet another female, native American, time traveler, lesbian vibes, who when meeting Joy from the future for the first time acts about as surprised as you'd expect when seeing an acquaintance at the super market. It ruins the episode.

Fuck the producers of this show for destroying whatever dignity the show had built in season 1!

Must-See Comedy Mystery

Wokeness: none detected

My opinion: This is one of the best shows in the comedy mystery genre. It's right up there with Monk. Spencer & Gus are a great comedy duo. The supporting cast are all perfect & the old movie & TV show references are endless, as is the parade of excellent guest stars. I don't give out 5/5 that often, but this show deserves it.

A Garfield for the 2020s

Wokeness: none detected

My opinion: it's a really fun movie that's just cartoonish enough & just Garfield enough. Although Lorenzo Music or Bill Murray will always be the voice I hear in my head for Garfield, Chris Pratt does a great job along with his co-stars such as Samuel L. Jackson. The use of modern stuff like Roombas and food delivery apps makes it very now, but that's not a bad thing.

Definitely fit for kids to watch & adults can enjoy it, too. I was surprised that I liked this much.

Some woke stuff, but nothing that I thought took away from the movie.

I'll go with the bad-man storyline

Hey! I saw this film a while back. Just noticing other reviews on this film, I said, "self, that movie really did have shitty men in it". I think the husband was a rapist and child beater. I'm sure there were other evil doer men in Where the Crawdads Sing too.

And I do think that maybe 10 or 15 years ago, in isolation, this film might not be considered "woke" so much, but we all know the reason these men are cast as shit. We know it and you know it.

Finally got around to watching this propaganda... not really

I have to say in any of my reviews that I'm all for hot young lesbians making out, but when it becomes propaganda, flyers dropped from an airplane that read: "Diversity!" and "Everyone You Know is a Transexual!", that's where I opt out.

So what if I didn't make it more than a half hour into this film? At least I finally got around to kind-of watching it. I don't think there was a man in sight for the first half hour. Just lesbians.

If anyone has made it through this film and would like me to change the overall rating, just review it here! I'm likely not going to change the wokeness, though.

Surprisingly Well Done Prequel Series

The only thing maybe that could be woke is there is a lot of female leaders among the ruiling classes. There are also men as well as both male and
female heroes so I didn't really see it as woke. This is a pretty faithful prequel of sorts to the original from 1982 with a lot of little Easter eggs.
The puppets are well done with limited CG and the voice acting is good as well. If you are familiar with or enjoyed the og movie this is a great series.
It was cancelled after only 1 season but it has enough of a satisfying ending to still be worth while.

A hundreds movie whose theme is women, rape, bad men... in isolation that's not too bad but in the 2020's you know why it was made.

The plot is incredibly contrived. the main protagonist is supposed to be smart but does very stupid things. and the end doesn't feel earned.

Note: I began writing this shortly before the movie ultimate ending. And after I saw it I increased wokeness and diminished the note. here is why...

--SO SPOILERS COMING--

So she actually did it... yes, the movie is that morally bankrupt. I belived the dude did it for her or perhaps the benevolent black father figure but no ! which mean all the good men are actually completely useless.
since this is not a true story, everything was actually manufactured for it to be a chad murder fantasy. I don't give max wokeness because; yes, those things may happen.
And also using the praying mantis as metaphore is quite stupid.
