Biography
edit
Jones was born in 1977 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in central Massachusetts. His family collected computers, a hobby initiated by his father, Frank, who was a software engineer. This influenced Jones a lot, so much that later he would draw inspiration for his future style of art and design.[clarification needed]
Jones attended Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and graduated in 1999 with a B.F.A. in Studio of Interrelated Media (SIM).[3][4]
Career
edit
While studying in Boston at Massachusetts College of Art and design, he began working in an art collaboration with classmate Christopher Forgues (C.F.) under the name "Paper Radio".[1][5] Art in America magazine named Jones one of the, "most important cartoonists of their generation" for his work with Paper Radio.[6] In 2000, he founded the East Coast art collective Paper Rad, with the artists Jacob and Jessica Ciocci.[1] Paper Rad is best known for creating comics, zines, video art, net art, MIDI files, paintings, installations, and music with a distinct "lo-fi" aesthetic.
Ben Jones collaborated with PFFR and Williams Street on a 2007 pilot for Adult Swim titled Neon Knome.[7] It was passed by the network and went on to become rebranded as a Cartoon Network show called The Problem Solverz.[7] Jones is the main creator and the voice actor of Alfe and Roba in the Cartoon Network show, The Problem Solverz.[8]
In 2013, Jones became the creative director of the Fox Saturday night programming block ADHD,[9] where he released his series, Stone Quackers. The program aired as sneak peek on October 27, 2014, on FXX[10] and a spin-off, Gothball, was premiered as a web-series on May 1, 2015, on the ADHD YouTube channel.[11]
Jone's work in fine art painting includes psychedelic themed painting, described as brightly colored, often visually flat or with pattern.[3]

Childish
"Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" is a wildly zany film that might entertain kids, but it annoyed me. The childish, predictable plot was unappealing, and my wife was able to foresee events consistently. While a Godzilla movie should be fun, I prefer a more semi-serious approach like "Godzilla Minus One."
This was my first (and likely last) experience with this "universe," which apparently includes four previous movies. It was initially confusing. Kong is on our side? Okay. The Earth is hollow? Sure.
The film shares many elements with "Stargate SG-1"—pyramids, "alien" technology/ESP, ancient pictograms our hero can instantly read, and portals to another world. While I love "Stargate," this movie is no "Stargate."
The production staff seems influenced by woke ideology, evidenced by the diverse cast, a special sign language girl, the girl's adoptive single mother of another race, and the anthropomorphizing of the monsters.
If you're looking for monster fights, there are some, mostly involving apes. However, you'd have to endure the dull human side plots. Keep in mind that the lowest score on this site is 0/5, so my score of 1/5 is not the lowest possible. Am I not merciful? Remember, "Godzilla Minus One" isn't part of this series and it's fantastic!

More Gen Z Nonsense
Not really woke other than some DEI. As the other review stated this is brain dead Gen Z junk. The acting is fine and the 80's theme done is done ok but the script is not good. The comedy is just to stupid to be funny, the horror non existent. Nobody here is likeable. It isn't offensively bad it's just dumb.

Population: One less every day.
"Hell on Wheels" is a gritty (muddy?) Western drama set during the construction of the First Transcontinental Railroad after the Civil War, focusing on a former Confederate soldier. The acting is compelling, including Colm Meaney as a robber baron train magnate. It's just a whole lot of fun.
There is an interracial couple consisting of a black male former slave and white female former prostitute (who was also a former slave of Native Americans). This would have been highly unusual and socially controversial for the time, but the show treats it as such. Several female characters are strong-willed, but I would not wish otherwise. Nothing feels like an agenda here, just excellent writing.
With its high production values, gripping acting, and first rate writing you will feel transported back to 19th-century America. Saddle up!

Good CG Apocalypse Animation
Not really woke though the one female character in the group is the best warrior before any of the male characters. She's not a Mary Sue or completely over powered however so not sure if it's intended or not. Good apocalypse CG animated movie with a good story and voice acting. Enjoyable but somewhat dark and depressing so not really for kids.

Cliché Twister Ripoff
No Woke. Not a great movie by any means but turn your brain off disaster movie fun. Acting is average to bad and the story is
ridiculous and cliché but it's ok for some mindless fun.

Unbearable bitchy girl character
Sadly it seems that this crap of having an overbearing, bitchy, aggressive female characters has become so common that alot of people seem to accept it. Because of that I disagree with the other review that it's not woke.
It started off pretty good until she come into the movie, rude and disrespectful towards the boy, overly aggressive and constantly taking the lead. I was against all of this feminist bs before what we call 'woke' now and it's been an issue for much longer. Not recommended cos she ruined the movie.

Surprisingly Watchable
Nothing woke. Pretty good movie. The first half and second half are very different in tone. The first half is more raunchy buddy comedy but than it takes a turn into more serious movie in the second half. Acting is good and fairly accurate to the time period. Worth a watch but you may be disappointed in where the second half of the movie ends up.
